Watching his "making of", what I like is that everything has a retro feel. The drop ceiling, the wooden-frame futon, the throw blanket, the shelves even give it an indy video rental store feel. It just takes me to a very cozy place to play old games.

I think the Nerd's fantasy of just putting the NWC's on his shelf and forgetting about them is still my favorite gag from this whole series. I also wonder if people are still wondering whether he destroyed the carts for real, even though they include that shot at the end that clearly shows that they're still intact.

"The making of an avgn episode" is easily my favorite video! It's so exciting to learn how James makes his fantastic videos come to life!!

I still love the way he says "Grimmace isn't from Sesame Street, he's from McDonalds".

I love seeing how meticulous the layout for his game and workroom is. I imagine that'll be useful 200 years from now when his house has been made into a walk-through museum like Monticello

I'm actually glad they used stunt Cartages for Nintendo World Championship, although I wonder how they made them with the little counter things on the edges of the carts

Kid Kool landing in the metal trash can in still one of my favourite moments of AVGN ever. His face is so great, you can tell that after that cut James was like "did that seriously go in?". Lovely organic moment.

I always found it interesting that the nerd didnt do collabs often, I guess its helped keep his content relatively timeless, and you can really just treat the guests like another foil to the nerd like bugs or the joker.

I have watched ever episode at least 10 times and I still love it. After going back and playing all these games, I realized that I don't half the patience the nerd has.

The making of video was impressive. He really covered everything he does to make the videos, most wouldn’t do that.

The Nintendo World Championships and Spielberg Games is up there with my top most favorite AVGN episodes :)

Pat really shines in this. i love his natural acting ability and charisma. also top notch editing and tropes

Jaws honestly looks like the best game LJN ever made.

I actually never watched the Making of an AVGN video before and I'm glad I finally did. I work in the Film Industry (specifically Post Production), and he gives a LOT of good tips/ideas for aspiring KZreadrs that should be noted. Granted the hardware is pretty dated (Most KZreadrs that shoot content footage similar to the Nerd use a DSLR camera for video and an external Zoom mic for audio) but it works for what he does since there is a nostalgia factor into it. Lastly, if you are interested in editing, use Premiere Pro, it's very similar to Final Cut Pro, but unlike FCP, it's still supported and updated.You can also get a Student Discount on it and get it a good bit cheaper than some of the alternatives like Avid.

If you pause on the scenes with the smashing you can see that the dip switches are actually a sticker. They're hanging over the edge of the grip. It's a Legend of Zelda cartridge and another cheap game, probably Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt It is still a pretty impressively realistic looking prop.

And the marathon of me bingeing on AVGN continues!

I mean I had work to do today and I've already seen each of these episodes more times than I can count but I guesssss I can watch them again
