There's two ways you can deal with them. Just like this guy did, you'll be friendly, they'll calm down, it depends on the dog how easy he is to deal with. The other way is being aggressive, but more aggressive than them and be confident when you're doing it. They'll leave you alone.

VenezuelanChic96 well this person obviously doesn't ride a bike, they don't stop on a dime, and unlike a car they are twitchy to stop from speed, rear wheel locks you slide out and end up clothes lining whatever you want to not hit (killing the dog and ruining your bike, maybe even braking your leg) Front locks up? You get thrown over the front breaking your arms and maybe shoulders on impact if your lucky, severe head and neck injury if you aren't. Serve to avoid it? Either slide out or worse roll. Bikes are heavy. They can and will crush you if it lands on you. So please just sit down, shut up and think before you type.

This is my everyday problem too. I use my slow electric scooter(max 25kph) as my primary transportation to work or market (manageable distance, cant afford car) and everyday this dogs on street would suddenly jump out from where they are and start chasing me. 😭 But thankfully they would chase me and bark at me for few seconds then stops on their own but still sacred that one of this days I could get bitten especially I work till late night. Researching now different ways to cope with this scenarios. Just hate that so many people let their dogs lose without a care that they could scare or harm someone even indirectly like how I see a cyclist tried to swerve immediately to the right to avoid the dogs sudden appearance while there's a car coming by just few feet behind him. I hope those owners who let their dogs like these gets chased by random dogs on street multiple times too so they will know how it feels.

I had similar experience like the first biker, a man out with his dog, let it go up to the front then behind me, chasing, i beeped the honk and got it to piss off, its not the first moment. I was enjoying the rare weather and the cruise of the quiet roads till that 😒 Im never kneen on dogs cause of bad experience, each time it just feeds to that discomfort of them.. But if i see a friendly kitty cat, you damn know well im talking to it 😅

This is why there are leash laws. You either have to have them in a fence or tied. People need to keep their mutts out of the road. Im sorry but im not swerving to avoid a dog. If i have to chose my life or the dogs i chose mine.

Everyone doing same mistake while dog is chasing uh don't speed up ur vehicle, pretty sure that if uh did like that it 'll chase uh, rather decrease the speed if possible stop the vehicle,it won't bite it jst bark and it 'll come near to uh,don't b afraid be normal ,This helped me a lot ystrday midnight...........
