@@andrepereira4941 top flight means the top division in a specific nation; say liga nos in portugal, or the saudi league. It does not mean a top five league, hence why pele and eusebio dont fit the criteria of this video.

@@areebsiddiqui758 To be fair it seems like most of them were either very young when they arrived in the country they play for, or they're 2nd generation. It's not like the Brazilians who spend enough time in a country through their professional career to be eligible to play for them. If you want to blame someone, blame the people who started the wars that led to their parents becoming refugees.

Hopefully all Africans/people with African roots aren't as narrow-minded as you... You should read what Belmadi or Slimani said about Aouar choosing France, very simple and true. I think we don't have to comment the choice of a binational, I respect Mahrez or Aubameyang who chose to play for their parents' country (Mahrez to pay homage to his deceased father, Aubameyang to follow his father former Gabon's captain) and I respect as much Batschuayi or Camavinga (Batschuayi who never went to RDC and Camavinga arrived in France when he was 2).

As an Angolan with was with enormous delight that i watched this video, thank you so much! It's a shame that the current state of the world, makes it so easy for african youngsters to leave the continent, leaving our countries constantly empty for talent on various fields. It's a political problem that has all to with cold war and decolonization, the way things were done paved the way to total dependency and uselessness of african political elites. That of course reflects on football, with nations who colonized sucking all the talent, even though most of africans or african descendents youngsters in Europe to not experience equal opportunity here. As someone born in the 90's i'm really happy when i see an afrodescendent opting for is african nationality, is a really strong political statement, we are not only worthy when we score. I think Cape Verde, Senegal, and both Guiné-Bissau and Guiné Conackri would have really strong teams, not forgeting Mali, a potential powerhouse aswell.

And this is going to continue too for Portugal. A large portion of Angolan immigrant descendants are in Portugal so Portugal get probably most of the Angolan players and other former Portuguese colonies such as Guinea Bissau, Mozambique. Most of them were born and raised in Portugal to parents of those countries. And if you look at the youth teams of Portugal such as current under 19s, 17d most of those players are black and whose parents come from Angola, Guinea Bissau, etc. So we’re going to continue this raid of talented players who are eligible to play for Angola, Guinnea Bissau!

Yeah it's actually the same here in France in bigger scale, but I don't understand why you call that a "raid" as far as the players are born and raised in Portugal, Portugal train them!

@@teacoffee42 It is far more complicated than just "representing a wealthier country"... European countries train these players, they aren't naturally born talented. Among Salah, Mahrez, Aubameyang, and Mané, maybe the best Africans in PL, Salah is the only one who never played in Europe before 20 years old. Aubameyang and Mahrez are born and raised in France et Mané arrived in Metz, France when he was 17.

But the best Portuguese players are born in Portugal from Portuguese parents. Ronaldo, Bernardo, Bruno, Félix, etc. Patrício, Cancelo, Rúben Dias, Diogo Jota, and now Trincão. All these players are 100% Portuguese (born in the country and from Portuguese father and mother). Than Anthony Lopes was born in France but from Portuguese mother and father. So, at the end of history all the best Portuguese players are 100% blood Portuguese. We haven't an africain superstar like France for example.

@@tfindierock You had it with Nani, Renato Sanches was supposed to be the next big thing (he can always be that, he's doing pretty good in Lille), but yeah you're right, most of your talented young players have European roots. Portugal is not such a big immigration country as France, between 1,5 and 2 millions of Portuguese immigrants and first generation/second generation Portuguese live in France nowadays
