Hardcore Power I do prefer angerfist over all these DJ's personaly, although Art of Fighter used to be good (haven't listen in like 4 years). Because angerfist is most famous, doesnt mean he makes mainstream crap. What I see as mainstream crap is dj's like Evil Activities, with there happy hardcore kind of hardcore.

What a sample and what a beat, even without the bass, that tune is filthy, u just know something wicked is coming

I used angerfist to help me focus on my senior high school finals... I can attest, this music's got benefits. I don't know how exactly aside from what it's done to my brain personally. Some backstory- I'm on the spectrum. One of my issues is that I'm physically unable to drown out other noises that I can hear around me. Even the drop of a pencil or paperclip can momentarily slip me off track of my focus and thought process... I know for a fact that THIS music helped do the thing for me that I couldn't do naturally: drown everything out lol. It isn't much of a distraction on its own to me either, considering how the majority of the rhythm remains at a constant. (A change in rhythm or style = a change of information that my brain will impulsively derail from its previous focus in order to process the new information coming from the sound) I can see how it would help with sleep, too.. again I'd pay attention to how the beat and rhythm remains at a universal constant. There could also be something going on in the bass too that affects brain activity. When you listen to music, your brainwaves will actually sync to the frequency coming from that music (check out music or ambient which are composed for the purpose of emitting theta waves) the amount of information coming in from the noise, at least from my personal experience, can keep the brain from wandering off and thinking too much...which would also help someone sleep. To people who can vibe with and understand appreciation for this kind of music, it's like encountering peace within chaos; its loud, distorted, destructive, but at the same time there's a simple, clean cut, and easy to recognize pattern in it giving it a hidden sense of order and structure. I wish my musician mom could understand why this genre exists and what it's really all about. (Was raised by musicians...liberal taste in music comes from my dad's side lol) Nobody would be listening to it if there wasn't some sort of benefit they were receiving from it... she probably would understand if she just gave it a chance and an open mind, but she hates listening to the very sound of it.
