I heard this song about30 years ago and it is the main reason i want to learn the banjo. I am not ready yet. Got my first banjo 3 days ago. Your videos are very helpful. I will make it to Angeline eventually. :)

Thank you! I’ve only been at this about 3 months so while I’m learning to “read hands” which is challenging (for me) I still like to look at the tab while I’m listening to your playing. I go back and forth, but the tab, for now, does help me, a newbie. I know I can usually find tabs for the tunes elsewhere, but they’re usually a little different from what you play. That could be good too. I hope you don’t stop providing tabs completely. Thanks again!

I’m guessing you have my ebooks? I don’t see you as a patron unless you are going by another name. Yes mine are different because I do my own arrangements and don’t follow any tabs. I do what I like the sound of in the tune. I’m not currently writing out many of my tabs because it’s very time consuming. Up in the air about writing new ones. I want to create music, not be bogged down with trying to tab stuff out. Haha.

I'm just starting alternate tunings, so it takes time making new chord shapes with these other tunings, after playing in open G and picking things out by ear for many months. Since you said you're playing in D, I'm guessing, then, the other chord you're going to is G. But, how in the world are you making it with the fingers you use (middle and pinky, AND with the one in between not looking weird, but fitting comfortably there)? Lol. I can only use my index and ring finger to make that chord. But, I want to learn to do like you're doing it because I know it's good to do (for a lot of reasons). Guess it's just another thing to keep practicing until I can make it look right and smooth like you do. But, looks hard and it ain't working yet.
