Oh, this video! This one was pretty interesting. As you mentioned, you heard her wanting a little reverb from her mic, but also as she was singing and the lights in the background went dark, she moved away from the mic around the 2:07 mark of this video and asked her mom Sara where her sister Juliette was. You can hear Sara say, "Michael...." Michael is her uncle who is also her business manager as well. Angelina, being the caring big sister, needed to know where her little sister was! Once she got the answer, she went right back in to singing the song. She can shift her focus pretty fast like a pro!

Paul, I totally agree that Angelina is best singing with a piano only & adding a violin is the cherry on top. However, is you substitute the violin for a cello, like the instruments, the cherry is even bigger & is covered with chocolate. There is something about Angelina's voice & a cello that is just heavenly. BTW, she has talked about going to her other Musical World when she sings & she can go back & forth even in the middle of a song, like she did in this video. She's been doing it since she was a little kid.

Her ability to bring more emotion laden penetration to the listener with regard to ballads originally sung by Adele is well known. The reason is that she is the consummate 'Jazz' specialist, on a level with Billie Holiday, whereas Adele is basically a great 'Pop' singer, and there is no way she can match the intensity Angelina brings to ballads.

Its not so much stage character, she goes to a special place when she sings. She has said so since she was a child. Its as if she has her own song/music dimension, and you can watch her face and eyes as she enters and exits. I've NEVER in my 68 years seen anything like it. Great reaction Paul. Ive got one for you. Hello Paul. I just want to expand a little on one of your very astute observations. One of Angelina's most fascinating traits is her ability to change from a regular girl to a consummate professional and back. The switch is so fluid, instantaneous and seemingly so completely effortless that it almost seems uncanny, and no doubt augmented the "channelling an old soul" theory quite significantly. She only started the reverb because she loves the sound of her voice in the parking garage. Thats the problem with tik tok ....awfully annoyingly short.

I much preferred her more recent tiktok vocals for. " run to you " ( whitney houston ) and " nothing going to change my love for you ( George Benson ) which are more rounded , less thin , sharp , harsh .I'm just not keen on this vocal style which she used for many of her performances at vegas , to sharp , harsh , this ain't awsome for me .
