Million Miles is one of my favorite songs from AJ because it moves me so much. AJ voice moves me everytime but this song is special for me. It is about her grandpa passing away and it is also dedicated to all that have lost a loved one ❤ Looking forward to what you have to say about it 👍

The barefoot princess strikes again with another beautiful song that Whitney Houston would be proud of. She was only 12 in making this it was unique about Angelina did you see there is no cuts in that that’s pretty much live. There’s an interview with her guitar player and he even admitted that when they did a video and she sang it only took one take or two and if it was any more than that is because he messed up not her. That’s just how good she is. Cannot speak enough of the barefoot princess and how humble she is. It’s been said that she is an angel sent from heaven she is an old soul and a child prodigy she has more talent in her little pinky than 90% of singers out there. She is just a very special person that has been sent here to maybe change change something on earth or someone.

You're getting far enough in now for me to plug what some of us think is still the most ridiculously good thing she has ever sung, from when she was the ripe old age of 10 -- a song you will never have heard of called "I Am Still Holding Out For You". There's a long messy history with what happened there, but basically a major songwriter wrote a song, pitched it to his normal huge clientele, such as Gaga, Beyonce etc., got no bites, and so handed it off to a 10yr old girl who stepped up and delivered a Grammy worthy rendition. Unfortunately said songwriter and his ego may have messed up the relationship so it will never see the light of radio, but it damn well should.

Being dumbfounded and at loss of words is a reaction too, and not uncommon in Angelina’s case, so don’t worry! I am on my sailboat and didn’t bring my piano, but I believe she hits a couple of F#5 notes here, which must be near the top of her belting range. To my musician’s ear she isn’t flat at all (hardly ever is, she has excellent ear for pitch, tone and whatever), but thankfully I don’t have perfect pitch. What I do hear is that she is trailing off a little at the end of those long lines towards the end, as she is finally running a little out of steam. But this is the studio version which Whitney did in her late twenties. Live, she used to lower it one or two steps and put in a lot of pauses. So sadly, for most of her career, Whitney would find it very hard (impossible?) to do what 12 or 13 year old Angelina does here. I find Angelina’s performance here absolutely amazing, even looking away from the fact that she is supposedly not «that kind of singer». I am not sure I agree, because she seems to know her instrument so well that she can be any kind of singer she damn well chooses to be. In any case, what is often overlooked is the huge DYNAMIC range Angelina displays here, from a soft whisper to huge belting. That can be at least as difficult to master as reaching high and low notes.

you're absolutely right that the 2 songs who'll give you the best idea of the actual range of Angelina at 12/13 are this one and how great thou art. One that gives an idea of the incredible power in her voice is A man's world, it's a live filmed on a phone or camcord, so the sound isn't the best but her voice .... Here is the link in case you are curious : kzread.info/dash/bejne/enmhmdaAos2ve84.html I found not long ago another version of I have nothing sung by Angelina, I would say a little bit younger than in this one but not by much where she is singing with just an acoustic guitar and isn't hitting the higher notes but giving it more emotion, I would really recommend watching it it's incredible. kzread.info/dash/bejne/l6GgltaCcdS9hbw.html

Year 8 school kid this! Think about that for a moment! May I recommend you listen to Whitney doing this live..you’ll be pleasantly surprised how Angelina compares. Subd. You’ve earned it. Re How Great Though Art..many say she sings it in the same key as Elvis though one it two claim she is slightly lower..Million Miles is tough for me to watch..she is clearly deeply missing her grandfather..but this is the key to Million Miles..and that is that she says the song is not just for her but for all those out there who have lost a loved one..she’s such a caring loving person..this is why she will always have my respect and support.

  • @charlesmorris6476

Yeah she really goes deep with “how great thou art” slows it down quite a bit to. I think she’s experimenting quite a bit with her voice, she seems to be testing her low ranges here, she really goes amazingly low. She does a beautiful job, but, if it were me I would’ve stepped up the tempo just a hair. But saying that, she did a magnificent job it was just beautiful.

Enjoying your reactions. This song is notable because it’s one where you see Angelina right at the limit of her range. One of the things you’ll notice in just about every other song is her seemingly effortless delivery-like Bohemian Rhapsody. The songs you’ve chosen next are all good, but let me put in a plug for her cover of Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind.” This incredible song shows the range that Angelina has of styles, and why she is known as the girl with 1,000 voices. Sitting on her sofa, she calmly gives us an over-the-top tribute to Etta and 60’s soul singing. She shatters any idea you had previously that you understood her vocal capabilities. It’s a one-off gem, incredibly different, and it will absolutely have you making that head-exploding gesture again.

Another song that I love point out to in order to show Angelina’s stylistic diversity is the Miley Cyrus cover of “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart”. No matter what you think of Miley personally, she has a beautiful voice and Angelina’s matches hers note fo note (if others of you doubt me, check out the mashup of the two of them together - it’s phenomenal). I think they could perform a wonderful duet. For those of you who claim Angelina’s version is better, I don’t disagree with you at all. I love too, how Angelina pays attention to all kinds of artistic details (I’m sure her Grandma has a lot to do with it)... notice her outfit when she sings “NBLa❤️“!

It's just my opinion, but I think Whitney's studio version is the best version of this song. Since the song was released in 1993 (recorded in 1992) I have listened to many covers of this song, and again, it is just my opinion, but I haven't heard a live version that I think is better than what this 12 year old girl just did, including any live version by Whitney. Whitney was 29 when this was recorded, and Angelina just did an amazing job in her tribute. Imagine if we can, how Angelina will sound in 14 more years when she is 29. I wish I would be alive to witness that, but I doubt it.

At barely 13, this is Angelina's tribute to Whitney, and also a response to those who had questioned her ability to go high. I think she gave a resounding answer to that question. If you want to hear her raspy lower register, try her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born to Die" kzread.info/dash/bejne/doKJj6qcfNi1j6w.html She's 12 years old in this performance, and it's absolute Perfection! For me, it's much better than the original, and I like Lana's version a lot. I'm enjoying your trip down the Angelina "rabbit hole". @DancingCoder: Personally, I think 'It's a Man's World' is a better showcase for her belting ability than this track. Bear in mind also that the vocal coach reactors keep telling us she still has another ten or so years to go before her adult voice is fully developed. I also follow Aurora and have watched your reactions to her work too. They both started singing around the age of six and they're both from Norway, but beyond that I'm not sure that comparisons are helpful as their voices are so different. Nonetheless, I'd like to think that Angelina will have developed equally powerful performance, stagecraft and writing skills by the time she's 25! R (Australia)

  • @gary-white-

I think the Aurora/Angelina comparison is like they're opposite sides of the same coin. Aurora has said that she's not that fond of singing. It's just the thing she has to do to in order to share her writing. Angelina has said that singing is as important as breathing. Aurora's voice is light and airy, Angelina's is deep and rich, but they are both remarkably talented singers and I love listening to both of them.

She can do it amazing things at home with a very basic recording set up. No fancy studio. Just a very good mic. And one camera. She's got the camera from the side because some idiot had said she was lip sinking. 12 in this performance I think.Rusty would know.

There's always some idiot who mentions lip-syncing... (this is a double-sided joke for my subs that have watched my other videos)

I think the best example of her using her low to high vocal range is "A Million Years Ago", certainly worth a reaction: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g3yA1ryKY9avp6g.html

Ill add to my list but I'd be more "interested" personally exploring a new song first before a song that is blitzed by everyone? I want to explore something remarkably different in terms of artist and style and I have heard countless renditions of Whitney's song :) So please give me some links to Vanny

If you're truly interested in hearing her range, even without belting, I highly recommend her performance of *_Unchained Melody_* at 9 years old kzread.info/dash/bejne/qXue07qxgcWsl6Q.html

Balls.. Accidentally deleted my comment. Erm try again... Was less belting than I expected but I was happy for this actually. She kept her range pretty steady throughout and this made me feel like she knows who "she" wants to be, so that impressed me a lot :)

@@DancingCoder l absolutely enjoy this miracle, just reminding people most of her songs are single takes.no auto tune raw as raw can be. And yes have a very bad sense for comic relief. So I'll stop and still enjoy your ride on the Angelina Express train to the 🌙 🌔 🌖 🌛 🌜 🌕
