Nick it makes me so very happy to see you react to Angelina. Your smiles and the joy you show, makes joining your patreon the biggest bargain of my life. Look at it this way. This was just a girl singing into her phone and uploading to TikTok. The truly scary, yet exciting, part is Angelina's voice still has around 10 more years of maturing. She inspires me to want to live to age 100 or beyond, just to listen to her sing and to see how much she helps improve the quality of life for people, especially children.

There is so much complexity to AJ’s vocals, on top of and throughout the runs, I would say that someone would need to start their singing earlier in life to match or achieve better; but then the unimaginable starting at 18 months of age is already an incomparable beginning.

I would like to hear Amy Winehouse sounding like this. The comparison is always made, but when I go through Amy's repertoire, I can never find it. Amy was very good at what she did. Amongst the best, but she was quite limited in what she did. Of course Angelina liked her, as do I. You can find some similarities. You can find similarities between Rush and Journey, too, or Frank Sinatra and Elvis. Honestly, though, Angelina can do Amy, but if Amy was with us, nothing in her catalog indicates she could ever do Angelina. Angelina far surpassed Amy about 5 years ago. This isn't to insult Amy, Angelina has earned the right to be an artist without comparison. Her sound is hers and hers alone. When you hear her, you know it's Angelina and not Amy or Adele, or Billie Holliday or Elvis or Whitney. It's Angelina. No one compares to Angelina.

@ThatSingerReactions If there were a fair comparison, Billie would be it. But Angelina has taken jazz and infused it to whatever genre she decides to sing, and she can sing most all of them. She is basically creating her own genre of jazz infusion. Something incredible in an era where it's hard to find a truly unique artist who can also go mainstream. There are other very unique artists who should be appreciated for their music, but they are a little too unique.

The best run she's ever done? Wow that says something. This is the most versatile runner in the vocal Olympics. She did that run at the end of gybr at 13 yrs old on agt, and I was mesmerized by it then, as you are now. I re listened to it countless times since. Sometimes she seems to just fling open the windows of your soul when you least expect it. If a smiling spirit could be brought to sound, it would be Angelina doing it!

Just her at home singing and playing the piano recorded with a smartphone and she still blows me away. To me it seems she always aims for near performance level and that's why these 'practice' sessions sound so amazing. The big blast in the middle is wonderful and gets a lot of attention, but like you I really love that long top to bottom run towards the end. For me you might have repeated it ten times more :-) Also that gentle soft ending is so beautiful. This was a repeat of sorts of her second AGT performance: if it was familiar, that's why. If it wasn't be sure to watch it some time: it's very beautiful as well!

I had the same reaction the first time I heard her do this run with the perfect transition I went nuts. I tried getting other reactors to listen to it but until you nobody else did it. That takes work to get that down. Angelina has never shrunk back from hard work. Both she and fellow 2006 baby Daneliya Tuleshova are tireless workers.

There is always a worry with child prodigies that like so many they get to a point and are stuck there. However Angelina continues to improve though that seems impossible. That does not mean that there are early covers that cannot be bested. For example BANG BANG. That is because her age image and youth in the voice suits the content.

Agree it's one of AJ's best run, over two full octaves with no break from head voice to mixed voice to chest voice. Unreal.

Everything is in the description except for your eventual (and needed) admission that Angelina does stuff REGARDLESS OF AGE that few others can touch. I'm confident such a confession will soon come. Approximately this same run in her AGT (13yo) version is a little different but equally terrific.

If you haven’t already, I heavily recommend listening to Loren Allred’s acoustic cover of Faithfully by journey, or Sofia James’ acoustic cover of Valerie. They are both vocal masterpieces.
