It is not a small thing to watch a preeminent artist move from level to level in defining their craft. Can we imagine what brilliance there was in the evolution of a great classical musician or painter? Standing beside a Mozart or a da Vinci as they build a towering legacy of artistic wonder to live for ages. Yet, we stand within earshot of artistic creations that will find comparable recognition in the musicality of the 21st century. In an old soul unfolding in a child of Norway, how blessed we are to live in this age of artistry and its mouthpiece.

Angelina Jordan, First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. She was 11 and simply amazing. Closing in on a million views!

I was in the public during this performance in the small town of Halden. Norway.

Angelina is 16 here as compared to 13 during AGT. The AGT performance was tailored to be very emotional with the interview solo, the interview on stage, the competition etc. This performance and setting is less tailored to do that: it’s a sing along outdoor family concert. Still she hits me hard with this. Angelina has an amazing ability to connect to emotions. You can hear how her voice has gotten stronger and how she has more control. Each time I think she cannot possibly get any better, she just does and proves me wrong. It is so nice to be wrong :-D It will take a while to listen to all she has done. I think there are 170 songs on the Rusty’s big playlist and I don’t think he put on different versions of the same song on it.

I have come to expect inexplicable tears while listening to Angelina.

Angelina can't sing within borders or limitations, she gives her all, bares her emotions and blankets us tenderly with them... How can we not feel it, how can we hold back our own emotions?... How can we hold back the tears? And we are surprised at what she does, but have learned to expect it .. yours was a most raw, honest, embrace of feeling what only Angelina can evoke... It's captivating, exhilarating and heartfelt... Like Angelina's performances... PEACE!! 🙏🏻

No one interprets, delivers, and elicits the passion and emotions intended by the writer of a song like Angelina. She swims in the emotional intent of the song and pours them out on the listener. Listeners are entranced. She puts a spell on us with her unmatched vocal control and jazzy inflections. Your reactions are spot on. Many of us hear these songs hundreds of times and are often amazed with every hearing of them. Her best song is very often the last one we hear. In the previous one you wondered if she would sing it acapella. You must see the one from her Norways Got Talent where she sang Billie Holiday's "I'm a Fool To Want You", acapella, with the added pressure of her competitors standing just behind her at 7 or 8 years old. She never sang this song for a Norwegian audience before. Her introduction, coming home after 3 years and covid break. In style. She gave it all. "Anywhere the wind blows, doesn't really matter, for me..." and there was a lot of it...

I share your intrigue. She made Norway proud with that AGT Champions performance. A fuller voice as it has matured. So, I share tears with you, SSS. She conveys the cry in that song. The cry of the human spirit. Any of us who have suffered in any capacity know what is that cry. So. we resonate. Yes, like a proud mom or grandmother (in my case). I love your reaction style. Thanks so much another fantastic reaction. This performance is so moving -- at least for me -- because this is the first time since AGT that I've heard AJ perform her most classic arrangement live. It's a throwback to just before Covid, which feels like a hundred years ago -- and AJ has been such a resource to me of consistent excellence during a really weird time. I know her long-time fans all feel this way.

Glad to see you've checked out 16-year-old Angelina's take on "Bohemian Rhapsody;" I remember suggesting it in the comments when you reviewed her AGT version at age 13 last month, just so you could appreciate her more mature vocals. The versions are different, but they are both perfect relative to where Angelina was in her life when she performed them. Looking forward to hearing her perform this song when she's 19! 🤯🤯🤯. It's so easy to love your AJ reactions b/c you really "get" her, just like the rest of her Angels. You mentioned imagining being in that audience: me too! I guess I made you curious when I said she blew it out of the water in this one...LOL Maybe slightly exaggerated, but it IS an extraordinary beautiful renditon for sure 😉 And when you take into consideration that this very performance was the very first performance she had live on a stage since that performance on AGT, it just makes it THAT extra special I think. lovin your AJ reactions but this one upset me more than excited me. Let me explain, you've done 8 Angelina reactions and from the 8 you've dune 2 Funny Valentine vids and 2 Bohemian vids and I'm happy that you keep on discovering her growth and changes in her voice but she's got one hell of a playlist. Her catalogue of covers and ORIGINAL'S are nothing short of spectacular to choose from. I may love Pizza or Fettuccini Alfredo but If offered every time I'm going to find somewhere else to dine my luv. If I were to make a suggestion for next time try her new release of "Suspicious Minds" or one of her originals like "Million Miles" The official lyric version uses her grandmothers animation adding to her own work of art, and she wrote it in memory to her grandfather who had just passed away. Its heart wrenching and beyond her years 14 when she wrote it and 15 when it was released. Or her Original 7th Heaven were she display's all the Jazz we love about our Princess, or If you want more young AJ play Reanna's "Stay". Allsang Pa Grensen. The event she was at has a channel of the same name. Translates to 'singalong at the border'. They posted these first other than a couple fan shot vids. Probably up around 1 and 2 mill views for her two songs, this and I have nothing in the blue gown.

Can you believe this voice ?? I'm such an Angelina junkie it's embarrassing.

As good as this performance was, I think her performance a few days later at Kurbadhagen was even better. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gJhn3JRwZ9vKc7Q.html. At Allsang på Grensen it was more scripted for TV (Norwegian TV2). At Kurbadhagen she was able to relax and have fun. Love your reactions.
