Wikipedia: Unchained Melody is a song written by Alex North (music) and Hy Zaret (lyrics), and it was first released in 1955 as the soundtrack and theme song for the film Unchained, hence the name. The film is about an inmate in a prison who is in the dilemma of whether he should escape or serve out his sentence so that he can be reunited with his loved one. And...her grandma is an iranian woman!

Thank you Boris! It should not go unnoticed that the twins Ali and Kiani Rahmani had only a few minutes earlier been talking about their mother whom they haven't seen since they were 8 years old. Now they are 17 as Angelina is. Kiani also tells us that she doesn't think she ever will see her mother again. When Angelina sings, what I hear is: "I've hungered for your touch" and "I need your love".

Such a great honor for Angelina to join other Iranian artists to recognize Narges Mohammadi for all her efforts for women's rights in her native Iran. The world should join in a loud chorus for Narges to be released from prison immediately, so she can end her hunger strike. She was a great choice for this years' Nobel Peace Prize.

Wow, what a live performance this is. I just realize: now it is 10 years ago that Angelina blew all Norwegians (and shortly after many more people) away with her unforgettable rendition of "Gloomy Sunday" as a tiny 7 year old. There she was: totally "in the song", and that has not changed over the years. You can see Angelina is living the song.... I think that is, apart from her unique voice, one of the reasons she makes such an impression on us, the audience. As one of the judges said back in 2013: Angelina, you ARE music..... And Angelina puts it this way: "Music has found me".

It IS from the movie ghost. Originally sung by Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers, in I believe the 60s. You should listen to that one. She does a lovely job though.

Great job Boris. It's so appropriate that Angelina should perform at this prestigious event. Just 9 years after her first appearance. Women's rights in Iran must resonate deeply with her. This respectful rendition is so beautiful, portraying the pain and anguish of being in prison.

This was simply gorgeous by both the orchestra and Angelina. Her vibrato is stunningly close to that of The Righteous Brothers Bobby Hatfield on this particular song. She has an incredible ability to honor the song and the performer she admires. AND she still makes the song sound entirely new.

What a way to honor Narges Mohammadi, even though it may be YEARS before she will be able to hear this performance or watch the whole ceremony. I have now listened to this song over 100 times and I find new stuff she does almost every time. She is unbelievable. Been following her since 2014 when I discovered her on an Got Talent site that did international talent from all over the world and she did Gloomy Sunday. Like most angels I am waiting for her album to come out, I expect after her 18th birthday next month
