Only fish I've ever owned that runs straight up to the glass and looks you dead in the eye. Plus they get huge and live forever and everyone thinks they're beautiful. They don't need walks or lil poop bags either🤩

Anyone who comes over loves the angels for this exact reason. It's like they come up to say Hi to everyone!
For 20 years of fishkeeping it never occurred to me to get Angles but when setting up a South American tank a few months ago I added 5 and I absolutely love them! They have a lot of character and look like mythical creatures swimming around my tank. One of my all time favorites now!

Great video as always. You always have the best information.
Love your channel! It’s so informative. I rescued a young angelfish a few months ago. He’s fine in the 20 gallon right now with some golden white clouds (GORGEOUS little fish!), but I’ll be setting up a 75 this year for him with some Diamond tetras. As he grew I realized the flow was too much. He was hiding in the corner amongst the sword. After turning the flow down to a trickle he became far more active and swims all over the tank now.
Great fish! Had many over the years. Very personable. They figure out pretty quick who the food guy is! They do well with gourami. I have kept with pearls, moonlight, gold and dwarf among others. They seem to like hanging together !

Thanks for an amazing video, Jason - This might be the best angelfish video information I’ve seen yet. Plus it was therapeutic for me - I lost my favorite (and original) angel Chuck unexpectedly over the weekend 😢 She prompted my upgrade in March “Quarantine COVID project” to a 100g 5 foot tank - Overall a really happy tank for my soft, acidic water: angels (or “fish-puppies”), black neons, cherry barbs, sterbai cories, and a couple of Bolivian rams. Everybody keeps to their own space and species for the most part (except my cherries like to school with the neons).

LOL! I have basically gone the complete opposite of your advice other tank size. Gabrielle is in a 210, but the water movement in there is crazy with 2 canisters, 3 HOBs, 2 sponges and two wave makers. He's also sharing that space with 2 oscars, a pike, a dempsey, a texas, a jaguar, a salvini and two convicts (plus 3 cats and a pleco). I do have a backup plan but so far (over a year). Everyone leaves him alone. I did have two and one has recently passed, but Uriel didn't have any signs of violence evident, so I believe it was either stress due to one or more of the many possibilities you spoke of here or, although consistent, poor water quality (you may recall I had nitrates that were "off the chart" high). I'm probably going to move him even though I liked the idea of having "dithers" that were something other than silver dollars. Especially now, knowing he's probably less than thrilled to be in there with those bruisers and the crazy current.

@@PrimeTimeAquatics Yeah, now I wish I had bought more of them when I set up the tank since the combo of fish seems to be working. Or working for the first year anyway. To add more in now, it might throw off the balance. And of course, buying babies would be foolish since they'll (likely) just become expensive oscar/jaguar/pike food. Live and learn. Who knows, with my luck, had I bought 6 or 7, it might not have worked and I'd be in the same boat. I will never know.
I just picked up a fairly small blue emerald marble angelfish last night. It is my very first angel, right now I have it in a 29 gallon. Last night I acquired an "rescue" angelfish from my LFS. Its still fairly small, but swims in circles with its body at a bit of a slant. Hey! I’m considering getting a single angelfish for my ‘centrepiece’ fish in my community tank (ember tetras, sterbai corys, a bristlenose, some nerites). That can be a little tricky. The problem is once you go beyond one, if they do pair they will become a little more aggressive defending their territory. If you go to four or more, you may still have an issue because you may wind up with multiple pairs. They usually do ok when smaller-younger, when breeding starts it becomes more complicated.

I have a pair of angelfish with turquoise and Boseman rainbows and the do fine. I’ve considered adding my rosy barbs to the tank.
Can I put just one angle in 60l tank? I also have 7 neon tetras, know that a big angel can it them, but heard that if we put a young one and it grows with them it won’t reckon them as food

Angels should have at least a 55 gallon tank given their adult size. They can get quite large!

During this time of covid getting rid of fish wasn’t bad until the post office took a dive. The only fish I can ship now are fish like zebra plecos or anything I can justify the higher shipping rate for. I can’t take a chance that the fish will be left on the dock a day or two.

I hear you. We ordered some stuff in the mail and it showed up in a bag that was probably 95 degrees.
I have been having trouble trying to figure out why my Angelfish Fins are constantly tearing. Live in FL and water is hard about 8. A site said 122ppm. All my parameters are fine with Ph in the high range side 7.6. Being kept with a Blue Acara and 3 Small Bichirs who are all healthy. Its just the 4 Angels mostly this black one that are tearing and healing that Top Fin. 55Gallon Tank. 82F. Not sure what's going on.

That can be common with veil tail angels. Sometimes they scrape against stuff that gives them small tears that then get larger as they swim around.
Just what I needed.... I have a tank of about 10 Silver dollars. Was thinking about getting Angels. Are silver dollars and angels a good combo?

It depends on your group of silver dollars. If they are a calm group (as they tend to be as they grow) it can work and I've done that combo before. If the group is still young and really active it might stress small the nagels a little.

@@PrimeTimeAquatics thanks Jason... Good insight.... The dollars I have are a mix. 6 of them are about 2½ inches big and 4 are about 1 inch big. They're mostly calm, sometimes 2 big ones will have it at each other... I think I should wait a bit... Thanks a lot Jason! Always good to see you and get your insights in the comments section !
How many would you recommend for a new 55 gallon tank?

One is usually safe. More than that you may have to move some angels out when they breed.
I live my angel Morgan ))
I am hoping for a relatively peaceful tank in my 100 gallon. Can I get just 1 angel fish? Is there a certain type you recommend?Thank you in advance for you help

That should work. If you don't have any fin-nippers the veil tails are really cool. If you want standard fins check out Koi Angels and Blues.
