    These wings are stunning! This by far is the best/affordable DIY angel wings I have come across. You did an amazing job with the tutorial, however id like to ask you a few questions. I am going to make my own for the first time as well as a mini version for my daughter but instead of them going out... I would like to do them in a heart shape. (Sort of like the big heart shaped Victoria's secret wings) So with that being said I know you did the hand measurement to show the size of the feathers you cut but did you use that same size for the entire wing span? Or did you do some sections bigger? Also since I am not doing the same style... if I do your method with the feather placements will the wings still come out with that same fluffy whimsical look? I love the way the feathers fall and id like mine to look like this but I'm not sure if I would have to do any different placement methods for the feathers to achieve the same look? I hope that makes sense.

    Also I would like mine to be black and I'm having a hard time finding the PE FOAM in that color.. would spray paint work or will it ruin it and not take well ?

    Thanks so much Jaylin!! :) I used always the same size feathers but by the end I cut some smaller ones to fill the little parts that were open, but you can do various sizes like bigger ones for the bottom, middle for the center and smaller on top, as you wish. Since the material comes in a roll when you cut the feathers they are a bit "rounded" from that which helps give them a nice bouche so you will have the same effect if you use the same material! Just be careful when storing them, if you squish them the feathers will be flat

  • @ErikStrife

    @ErikStrife

    If you are doing big wings like I did you need really strong wire to keep the wings lifted is they are smaller and lighter you can get a weaker wire but the stronger the better, I got it from a construction materials store

  • @ErikStrife

    @@FrostySparks yes but if you use fabric you will need to make sure the edges when you cut are sealed so it doesn't frail, you can cut the fabric with a welder to seal it, this roll I believe was 15 meters but I ended up using around 8 if i am not mistaken, and btw fabric will not look as stiff as this foam, it will look more droopy, but it depends on the project you want to work on, it might work
