I do realize Sonny and Sarr were missing Bissouma missing means we didn't get a red card, let's face since Luton he's contributed virtually nothing but suspensions which help us not one bit his play has been terrible. Without Son we have nothing up front by way of creativity the catch with him this season is he seems scared to death of shooting some of those worldies from outside the penalty box if he tried he'd probably have 20 goals already.

I thought we did well against a strong City team. Our back 4 can match it with the best, we lacked a bit in midfield and front third. It was a fast paced tight game that was decided on a special finish at the death. Plenty of positives for Spurs and when we get our top players back we will finish the season strong.

Mate VDV was amazing today and so was porro. I think Udogie wasn’t great but everybody has an off day. Problem today was the CMs. We basically didn’t have any and got walked though all game

I remember KDB and Alvarez missing great chances and not even hitting the target. Plus Bobb the tit. Why did he even tap that in. It was going in anyway and could’ve cost the team

As a neutral (Celtic now enjoying an interest in Spurs) I thought they did very, they were missing two mobile central midfielders at the elite end for athletisisim, along with a truly rare creative attacking midfielder. I think they were missing someone else as well, oh yes, the captain, Asian superstar, genuine world class forward who walks into any dressing room on this planet, a Korean national hero, will join the Spurs pantheon of greats above mere legend standard, a status he has already achieved in the premier league. Also am all round good team mate and a truly decent man. I quite like him. Sonny. 🇰🇷

Haven't seen anyone mention the most obvious takeaway from this game. We were rusty!! It was obvious we hadn't played in a couple of weeks. But as Ange said, no excuses, and use this disappointment to fuel us for the rest of the year.

Wow, are all spurs fans this dim 😂. This isnt fifa, players cant just come back from 3 or 12 month injuries and play 60-90 minutes against the best team on the planet

Way too many people think they are smarter than all the highly experienced spurs staff never thinking those staff have access to so much info that influences things like how many minutes a returning playershould play but also so much more including data related match ups. Hojbjerg was probably started for a reason like that

Vicario was constantly being deliberately 😢harassed/fouled on the goal line before every corner. 2 things, the ref should have been aware of it and stopped the repartition. or a defender should have been assigned to eliminate it. It’s like 0laying the man instead of the ball.

The goal wasn’t a foul, but if the ref calls the ones from earlier, the player doesn’t get the chance to harrass vicario leading to the goal.

Richy played better than most. He got no quality ball - hes a striker and nobody fed him the ball to strike. The team as whole just were not that hungry - way too passive as Ange said. City played waiting for the mistake which ultimately happened. The outcome was predictable. Fwlt Madders ciuld have at least started the first half. He never really got the ball to make a difference.

Thought Werner was our best attacker. Always tried to make something happen but his final ball was hit or miss. Dont think Richie does enough off the ball. He’s invisible unless we have possession or attacking

Hobjberg changes angeball to conteball. Pep knows this so he made his team widen the gap between hobjberg and the attacking players. The whole point of angeball is to have attacking midfielders and high inverted wings higher up the pitch so that the gap doesnt happen, but with hobjberg sitting at the back, angeball doesnt work. Just get another midfielder who can play angeball, otherwise games like this will happen again and again.

Hojbjerg was decent today defending. It was Lolo who was the problem. Worst game for us by far and it show as we subbed him first. We lost today as our MFs didn’t take charge and couldn’t do anything. Think VDV, Porro and Werner played decent though

We’re just that used to him being amazing that when he’s shit we see it big time. Can’t wait to see him and Bassuma or Sarr together though. Lolo starts all day for me. It just depends on who starts alongside him

It was always going to be difficult for us but very poor in the first half .That gave City confidence and they knew there opportunity would come .

Played a weakened team again, Madders could have started and played 60 minutes which is what he did for Bentancur instead Hojbjerg. Johnson is still not up to snuff need to play Deki on the wing until Johnson has learned how to play with the big boys, use him as a sub for now he's not good enough, 1 shot in goal is the proof you need and Richarlison played played pretty well considering he was getting no service at all.

This can't be an excuse forever. Yeah, weakened team but a goddamn relegation team could have at least 2 shots in 90 minutes. A lot of players were just simply scared, and attacking-wise we just don't have quality. I'm sorry to say this but from all our wingers and attackers are mediocre exceot Son and sometimes Kulusevski. This was just simply the quality difference between the 2 teams.

Spurs played well, not good enough in the final 3rd to score.. deki should've released the ball for werner in the first half twice. Werner makes good runs, we must feed him the ball early, we only gave him the ball in behind city's defence once in the second half..walker saving the day for City. Spurs must move the ball more swiftly through midfield. Tottenham is continuing to improve which is good. COYS 🎇

Walker showed his speed today at 33 years old when he chased down Werner. If it was anybody else then that tackle wouldn’t have been made and Werner was clean through. Actually stood up and clapped it as Ive always thought that Walker is more of an athlete than a footballer and he’s just quick. Walker has really upped his defensive game since moving to city and it’ll be hard to name many better RBs in the world then him now

Think Werner and Maddison will be decent together though and Maddison will see the runs earlier than most other players. Problem today was we didn’t have any CMs. Lolo was non existent and Hojbjerg was only good defensively. Says a lot when Hojbjerg stays on and you get subbed but it’s his only bad game for us since he joined. It just didn’t click today but shit happens and we move onwards and hopefully upwards

Spurs couldn't even get INTO the final 3rd! I could have played keeper for Man City and the result would have been the same! Nothing like the Angeball we were promised.

I loved the way we kept tht pressure on the ball even without it. 4 clear runs missed for Wernerwhere he was out in the open that sarr, Maddison would have spotted. Defence was on point. Haven’t seen a team so high tempo tht even when kdb got the ball infront of goal he was cagey as fuck.

You wouldn't pick the Aussie from the attire in this interview. 19 fouls to 9 by the dominant possession side shows how good City are at walking that line, extinguishing our play with fouls without drawing the refs ire and getting yellows.

I had alarm bells ringing all week. Too many Spurs fans thought we would stroll it, and as fan for more than 50 years, that's when we always lose. City are the best in the world and we were not allowed to play. The few opportunities we had, we didn't identify the runner (normally Werner) at the right time. It hurts, but we can push on in the League now, let's see how far we can go. Can we get third or better?

I think it will come over time. There is quality there but they need to learn to play together. Having Maddison back will be helpful. With City they have a lot of quality in their defence, so having a lock picker is important. We need to get a little more precise with our passes when we get in behind them. But the fans (not yourself) who are flying off the handle need to calm the f%€¥ down. We are clearly a much better team than last year. Let’s keep moving upwards ⚪️👍

New passengers: Hojberg, Richard Arlington, Johnson. The team has come-on. Ange is doing us all proud. Our best team will be back soon enough. Coys

just my opinion, but the gaffer should have brought in Maddison sooner. He didn't have a lot to do because we didn't have any momentum when he came on. He could have had a better impact if he was brought on earlier. Hojberg should have performed better. But for me the worst performance of the day was Udogie. He should have passed the ball more to werner.

Worst was Lolo by far. Never seen him play so bad. The fact they left Hojbjerg on and took him off is a statement to how bad he was

We were poor tonight missed sonny big time. Back 4 outstanding,midfield not at races. Richi and werner tried hard. Johnson a major disappointment all year needs to be benched. Hojbjerg a liability in middle of park,let him go and skipp not up to it,gives his all but not at required standard. City deserved to win even if goal was debatable. When we get sonny and saar and bisiuma back we be ok. Missed the energy and drive those 2 give us in the middle. Anyway onwards and upwards for rest of season. With a full deck to deal from ange can get us top4

Pep implementing the press on Hojbjerg and Bentancur was sensational and demonstrated how to defeat Angeball. Spurs couldn't get out of their own half. Skipp and Madders should have come on at half time at the very least.

It wasn't the result that we wanted. We didn't play well offensively, they scored very late. It's not like that Newcastle game when we were down five nil after twenty minutes. Let's not beat ourselves up. Look its a new build, we will be better next year.

Holberg was worst player on the field. Maddison was obviously rusty. Richie isolated and not great otherwise. Many critical of Kulu, but he did well when he had a touch. Udogie and VDV are just gold. Prefer to see Dragusin, Skipp or a kid than Holberg again. We really miss Sarr, true box to box athlete. He was the reason why Bissouma had those great performance when he did.

Our defence was super good ,the rest was useless.

nothing to panic about. we lost to the best team in the world with 3 of forwards absent. and we only conceded one which was a dodgy goal that should've been a foul on vicario.

No chances were created and slow predictable playing out from the back which city worked out every time. They were in total control.

Two of the quickest players in the league in Werner and Johnson and we don’t utilise it. Think Werner was great today but I’m still waiting for Johnson to show why we brought him. Want him to open his legs and run like proper run for a change. Seems scared to open up to me

Drop Romero for the Dragon. Romero stood there for the goal. Did nothing. You got to be super deternined to not concede a goal at a corner. Romero not doing big matches well anymore. Not a leader he needs someone to kick his butt. Apparently the Argentina goalkeeper said he would beat Romero up if he got red carded and i guess said similar things about red cards

Johnson needs to be benched just dont see why we bought him. The final ball is terrible and so weak, he was the same at his last team. Kulusevski again does not look up so slow one trick pony, without son our front three europa league level, and romero needs to stop slowing the game down

Skippy was the right call just should have been for hoiberg instead of Johnson who would have had scarlett or gil replace him

We don’t have good enough players in depth to come in when players are on international duty, we were fortunate not to lose by more, to have one shot on target is embarrassing. It’s another season without a trophy.

We are light years away from the double side ok slower game then but players cared a lot more nothing last night chances my opinion we are average at best but some supporters think we're more than that and there deluded man care on another level the movement the passing fantastic, what worries me his we buy defenders but there is always a massive chasm in the middle and on the right and left it's a joke

Im not a Spurs fan. Im an Ange fan. For me, Spurs need better forwards. So wasteful in the final third. Ive been watching them all season and its frustrating the lack of final ball and quality. Only one who can produce it is Son.

Zero passes in behind, Werner made some great runs that everyone was blind to see to thread it first time, we were really shit in this game. 8th richest clubs in the world my ass! It really wasn't. Kulusevski isn't a #10, as he lacks vision. If he has, there were a few times in the 1st half where Werner, and BJ made their runs and wasn't rewarded.

Surviving 90 minutes against this City side is an accomplishment. It's not surprising that without our best player, captain, and biggest goal threat, we lacked a cutting edge. Made worse by the absence of our 2 starting DMs, Sarr and Bissouma. Of course I'm sad we lost our home fortress record against City, but my biggest takeaway is that our defense looked just as good as before we lost both centerbacks, if not better. On a different day, we nick the winner instead of City and everyone is saying that Ange sacrificed our playstyle for 3 points.

A spursy way is not to win trophies. KTBFFH!

Yeah personally I think Johnson and Werner must be dropped, Johnson needs to 1st learn a lot b4 given a chance to feature on the starting 11, Werner needs to start utilising chances than crossing all the time ASAP

Werner is ok its a loan, but £47mil on Johnson this guy is top 10 level player not team fighting for top4. He can't do anything no composure, final ball terrible doesn't look up, and so weak. Hope we don't get Gallagher will be another player on that same level

Kuluveski hojberg awful as for johnson abysmal. Wasted nearly 50 mill on this mediocre player. Loads including myself were against signing johnson from the start. We all said he wasn't good enough. We're clearly suffering the absence of Son and our midfield, he's been more than adequate since he's fully recovered from his injury; though I do agree he was probably worth more around the £40m or £35 price point.
