Badosa has a mental toughness, I love how she seems to be able to reset herself when the moment goes against her. She's got the temperament to become great!

I remember watching her a couple years ago thinking she was really talented, but something was missing and she just didn't produce consistent results. It's truly incredible to see what kind of player she has become over the last few months. Wow.

Kontaveit has taken her game to another level ....hard work pays !!!!!

You can see Anett thinking her way through each match and strategically adjusting her game to win the points. She stays focused and doesn’t let a bad shot throw her off. She knows how to build a point and when to go for the winner. So professional and likeable. Always respectful of her opponents. Top top quality tennis.

@ehmp how would u not read too much into her form? She's been on a consistent uptick ever since that USO loss to Osaka in 2020, changed her entire game style and is seeing results. Meteoric rises to the spotlight like gs are tenuous, true, but she's shown consistent improvement over the last 18 months and that shouldnt go unnoticed. Plus, everyone plays lights out at slams so of course the winner can be more random when u dont have a serena or graf etc consistently winning week in and week out. I think it shows how great the greats truly are. Think abt all the random slam winners there would have been had serena and graf lost all of their slam finals.

@ehmp yes but if she keeps her form up she will have more chances than most of those 30 girls. Thats what i mean. To be fair, she is destroying top 10 players as you can see. Wta finals are important, players that are playing are ready, this arguement about holidays in just beyond hillarious but anyway

I thought how kontaveit going to handle pliskova's serve!!..The way she handled in the first set of set point!!!..fabulous...

I love Anett’s tenacity and smooth power. She will be definitely one to watch next season. I won’t be surprised if she runs hot to the title in Melbourne come January. Be interesting to see how she goes I’m a new fan.

I always loved the way Anett plays. She and Kaia both are amazing players! GO ESTONIA!

Love watching Kontaveit games. She plays such "clean" Tennis.

Anett has changed, she is serving a lot better, the groundstokes have more power but accurate too. She's now a favourite to take this. Demitry has definitely worked !

Yall can't believe how glad I am to see Kontaveit actually playing to her potential. We've all seen how solid of a player she can be for the past couple years, but she's put it all together now and has become very consistent.

Impressive victory of Anett. Her confidence is total. She plays a wonderful tennis with power, clear understanding of the game situations, tremendous footwork and high level of consistency. Karolina doesn't play bad in this match but Anett was too strong. I wish them the best for the future.

No she didn't. She had just nine winners this entire match and almost same amount of ue's as Kontaveit at about 18 or 19. Return of serve wasn't working as well as it was against Krejcikova.

Utter domination. 24-1 in her last 25 sets, without ANY going to Tiebreak either... such has been her ridiculous level of play. Oh and only faced break points in 1 service game through 2 games, 0 times broken so far in the Finals...

What I love about this tournament is that it is really different, we have always watch players adapting to different surfaces such as grass, clay, hardcourt or outdoors and indoors buttt high altitude is another factor that gives the players a new opportunity to show who is really the best.

Yep it is,she just changed soooo much compare to the past,she used to be very inconsistent and lost matches when she was leading,I don't know if that's all because of the new coach or what,I just really hope she continues this fantastic form and gets more big titles,she really deserves it and now finally she lives up to her massive potential,hope this is just the beginning.

Kontaveit is unplayable currently. She’s probably in the best form of all the women out there in Guadalajara. Would like to see her against Sakkari, who destroyed Swiatek with a similar brand of one-two power tennis.

wow... I began to notice Kontaveit a few weeks ago, and her level and consistency are through the roof. This girl believes she can win Slams - she plays like it.

That's the difference between a tennis player who have only good first serve and a tennis player who have good both serves. Kontaveit's win was to be expected. Karolina Pliskova only have good 1st serve, but Kontaveit have great both serves, plus she moves better than Pliskova is far more consistent, far more aggressive

Everybody should deserve their success and I don’t want to diss her etc., but I will never ever ever understand, how Pliskova is able to be in the top 10 for so long already, has been world number 1 in the past and even reached two Grand Slam Finals so far. Congrats to Annet, for reaching the Semis and keeping on her focus 🙌🏾🙏🍀😊

It was exciting watching Emma Raducanu win the US Open, so it was like only two months ago. WTA continues to surprise us with breakout players, so in a way it's not really surprising anymore.

Well for me and I think this is correct IMO Anett is the best player of 2021 for sure and the player that has so so much improvement to play and have so many wins and 4 trophies I think most trophies this year were won from a girl and she goes now for the next and final trophy! She is now so consistent after so many victories she has won most of the top 10 players she is now top 10 she is in the zone now we have the real deal Anett and if she stays healthy we looking at a top 3 player and winner of slams and more! The improvement is so big like her serve and the aces she does and even her second serve is a top-quality she is very fast great groundstrokes accuracy mentally awesome and I saw the match on my TV - network and she did not start so good this time but she very fast found her self and played the way she could and won easy at the second set! And she is a very humble person she speaks very nice does not heart that she is easy in the eye to a looker so Anett girl well done and see you at the top!!👌👍👏✌🙌😘

Her highest possible rank will only be 5th 3rd if pliskova and krej dont have any matches anymore, but they still has and can still have points even if they lose

Kontaveit with her hustle, bustle, enthusiasm, passion, determination Vs Pliskova showing almost disinterest, barely moving. Kontaveit is awesome but how can the Ace Queen loss 6-0 unless she herself played poorly? Kontaveit has been on fire, so Pliskova shouldn't be caught off guard...no preparation, planning done by her team, considering how well Kontaveit has been bouncing on short balls and hitting great angles ?
