Love, Love this man's music. His involvement in this art form could only move us more forward. We must learn to recognize talent no matter where the source comes from. We as Trini's come in all skin tones, so indeed Andy is one of us. Tres Bien..

iIndeed Jose...great musician,great pan player,excellent composer of music for the pan.Just love and appreciate Andy Narell's contribution to the recognition of steelband music around the globe!Hats off to you Andy...the great contributor!

My dad Roderick loved Andy Narell's music ....and shared it with myself and sis in the late 90's. Andy's music captures all that is cool Caribbean with smooth tones and textures in his compositions...progressively Pan Jazz ..love it to bits....nostalgic relaxing and more, takes you through different levels via that wonderful sweet sound unforgettable 'PAN'.

Trinidadians have a love hate relationship with Andy Narell , Let's get it right with Narell before we get too old to remember. First of all he is a GREAT PANNIST. One of the best ever. And a great ambassdor of pan. ,,,,more than l could think of any local contemporary pan leader. He is as far am concerned one of us ...a TRINI.

@eebooking I agree with greycane, and I understand your frustration, but you need to understand that in this world, it is not about the talent you have, but about what you do with it. I agree, Andy is not the "Best" pan player I have ever heard, but don't get hung up on "Best", take a look at. 1) His body of work 2) His Innouvativeness 3) His quality of recordings 4) The diverse musicians he plays with. It has earned him great respect as a premier world class musician and recording artist.

What's all this foolish talk about 'not the best pan player'....I am Trinidadian and black.And I love Andy's music...Music I can listen to and enjoy throughtout the year.Even Christmas morning,that's how rich it is.What do you refer to as 'not the best'...some pan man rattling away on the pan to show how skilful he is...with no context to anything he plays.Just to show skill.Best pan player for me is one who can compose and play beautiful music on our national instrument.I love all the Boogsies,and the Greenidges,,and the Teagues,...I truly love them all...but I must be fair and honest...only Andy's music can move me to buy a CD.Sorry,but we are so short sighted.Why can't we learn!

@eebooking This is a silly place to vent your frustrations at the industry - There is always going to be those who are better, and those who are worse who are unrecognized in any medium; being white or black has nothing to do with being in the right place at the right time. Andy's contribution to the pan world has granted him some recognition for his efforts. At the end of the day, he just wants to get payed for doing what he loves, and I don't begrudge him that much.
