Andy Kaufman's Cannonball Story
Комедия
This is an excerpt from The Andy Kaufman Special which was aired on ABC in 1979. Andy, as his "Foreign Man" persona, tells a story about the three people who were carrying the biggest canon in the world to Spain. One of my favorite Andy bits.

I rewatch this every day because it makes me happy.
It's 2017 and Andy would STILL be ahead of his time.

Funzo he plays someone everyone can identify with. The innocent tourist/foreigner. I wish he had though of more jokes for the character. :(. It's so good.
He was in a league of his own. He created a comedy league and he was the only one in it or ever will be. A unique, original, great, genius!
same here... I saw Man on the Moon about 8 years ago for the first time but I didn't understand it much back then. yesterday i watched it again and I came to youtube and I have spend all night here watching these videos..
he's so endearing & captures the try-hard who does it all wrong yet is adorable.
@lasoogneypubes can u believe, I wrote that comment a year ago..and still keep loving and supporting him. it's 26 years since he passed away...and still he's still remembered and loved by many people!
That's the best cannonball story I've ever heard.
"do you understand?" lol
Totally true. Even if you didn't appreciate his humor ya gotta respect his fearlessness.
I wish he was still here telling us funny stories.
True genius; when a celeb dies it will always make people look at their work again but he always was a brilliant talent in life and death. Not overrated if anything he was underrated and misunderstood.
Andy was the greatest! Different! And very funny! Love him and miss him!!
He was one of a kind, and not at all overrated!
Don't look at me!
"Do you understand? Tank you veddy much." I love it!
Unbelievable talent.
Ahhh. I miss Andy. Always so willing to walk the very thin line betwen absurdly funny and the publicly alienating.
just the way he was telling th joke is great
I wish I was in the audience that night. I would've cheered harder than anyone at that lame story.

Hindsight is always 20/20
My favourite bit of his is the foreign man, especially the impressions
i love the way he gets carried away 0:50 ;p
great man! always loved him... RIP!
Andy's foreign accent always make me laugh 🤣🤣🤣
Andy once told this story on Saturday Night Live, and he started crying in a rhythm. Then he played his bongo drum in the same rhythm that he was crying.
thanks you verry mutch.
Andy Trolled the audience before the word Trollin was ever invented!!
Fact No one on the planet could ever steal his jokes
"vait vait" so funny!
brilliant.
What a come back! well done.................. you've really outdone yourself this time. You should go for a rest whilst the pain in your head subsides from thinking too much.
It's the age of comparison we're living
Gold

Wow.. Love this.. under the valleys :D
hulkmania75: Dude, exactly. It is like you read my thoughts. Thank you for your insight, and for your blazingly clear and deftly precise form of expression.
I love this man
...don't look at me!...
right on
Genuis
thumbs up if you came here looking for Andy Kaufman material and have never seen Man on the moon
One some chat show he talked about being mugged but started crying as foreign man and the muggers ended up giving him money
"I've never told a joke in my life." - Andy Kaufman
Andy Kaufman did shitposts before shitposting was a thing.
I trusted you, I trusted you, WOWHOO I trusted You!
This is very funny.
Simplicity at its Finest .
he is fucking hillarious
OMG, that was hilarious xD
R.I.P ANDY KAUFMAN !!!!!!!
I get it!
Total genius
genius
Funny stuff!
This is my favorite Foreign Man joke.
man on the moon...
Jaja, this guy is so funny
Funnier, even!
yeah im pretty sure andy was the only guy who could pull that off and get a laugh.
that's hilarious what a genius!
What pile drives me to the floor, broken, beyond repair, and unable to get up is the fact that they pushed the cannon all of the way to the top of the mountain and were unable to fire it--because THEY HAD NO CANNONBALL!!
Damn it. I keep watching this guy and I am not sure when to laugh? I swear to god I have no idea what this is.

TV Situation Comedies use to run recorded laugh tracks, during the airing of the show, of audiences laughing, because the producers of the shows determined that the viewers would not otherwise know when to laugh. The producers felt that the viewers needed to be lead around by the nose, and told . . . okay, this is where you laugh, then wait for the set-up, then this is where you laugh again, and this is where you pause, now laugh some more . . .
Not a fact, just a theory, but wouldn't surprise me with Andy.
I just don't know why I'm laughing when I watch Andy Kaufman..!
So damn funny!
Only Andy😂
u know that might be possible. he might give us the ultimate shock and tell us he's still alive and the whole death thing is another happening, lol
The UK has produced many great comedians: Morecambe and Wise, Les Dawson, Billy Connolly (OK, he hasn't been funny for years but he was once), Russell Kane...and then there's you. What happened with you? When did you find out that you have learning difficulties?
Ok give me the cannonball
There wouldn't even be a Borat if there wasn't Andy Kaufman. Watch more of his videos to see what I mean. :)
borat even does the tier thing, the god/man/horse/woman/bug etc is kaufman inspired
birdy num num..
Two balls and one cup!
@3ISAMAGICNUMBR You don't understand it, and that's ok. But he doesn't have almost a million views on ceveral clips here on youtube just because people think it's awesome to look at a dead guy. He's not a joke teller (wich he's pointing out in this clip by making his foreign character tell a joke and totally miss the timing of when to hit the punchline), so it takes a lot more to understand his humour, than a random standup guy.
Last comment/question was to "popartproductions". Anyone who starts using Andy's kind of humor will must certainly be taken for a moron. The fact that so many doesn't get it makes it so much better for the ones who do. (forgive my poor english)
I'm looking for the bit where he's playing the congas and singing to a girl who's lying on a cot in front of him. It's hilarious! Anyone know?
Andy doesn't need cannonballs to be funny.
@ClutchFan1971 Where?
And a couple more..
When I do this... They think I'm being racist...
@ALittleBitOfGreen yhea, the same happen to me today, yesterday i saw the movie and then today i watch the real andy kaufaman: the movie is identic to real story....everything!
Do you know how to use apostraphes?
@DAazEdd I think that's the point! I just figured it out! I think that is the point! :D
When people laughed at some of his jokes, I have a feeling that Andy thought they were completely stupid. Its like reliving the days of Rome where people frequented theaters while their country burned to the ground behind them. Andy wasn't funny, he was real.
1:07 when he says don't look at me he sounded like adam sandler
@blade1394 thanks!
Anyone to tell what I miss exactly? I didn't get the joke
genius! took the idea of being laughed at for the wrong reasons and turned it into an act so sublimely funny that those who 'got the gag' found it funny and those who didn't laughed 'at him' not with him. Years later, Ricky Gervais did the same in The Office... far beyond his time of 'joke telling' comedians from that era!
@cagdassalur it's a Caspiar accent
thumbs up if you're here after watching Man On The Moon
Actually I didn't even really think too much. I'm talented like that. I'm a man of action, not someone stuck in their head, like you seem to be. I could tell you a thing or two about resting. I don't think you're quite at the right mental level though to comprehend.
@ALittleBitOfGreen Andy finds it funny that you think he passed away. :-)
He was ban for this joke in his native Estonia which is how he end up on this USA show.
@lasoogneypubes as did i just tonite...lol it is now 4 am.
Good. I knew you didn't.
@BOBSTAHL Well, you figured out how to type and post comments on KZread, didn't you?
ahh, he was ok
Andy's wrestling gig was Great - - He had me & Jerry goin'....I think he had Dave goin' too... You DO need to get someone to write your shit for you tho...
Hahaha
