This is the opening number from the 1967 CBS Special Andy Griffith's Uptown Downtown Show. The special stared Andy Griffith, Don Knotts, and Tennessee Ernie Ford. The blond dancer in front on the left, who also escorts Don Knotts to the stage along with Goldie Hawn, is none other than Teri Garr, who did quite a bit of these type of shows as a dancer in the early part of her career.

That's crazy, and she was the one who had my attention the whole time. I need to watch this again on my 70". She is such a jewell, I wish she would come out of retirement. BTW, Terry Garr, Julia Roberts and believe it or not, Martha Stewart all have the ability to reduce David Letterman to total rubble; just a complete mumbling idiot. Lol.

A Lot of effort went into those shows and movies back then not to mention talent not saying effort isn't put in todays offerings but it seems with the stuff they have today the actor's and actresses lack raw real talent the way they were totally rehearsed and groomed by the studios back then as opposed to todays methods, also many actors and actresses today seem to be just going through the motions and many cant act as well, you can tell a good quality show from something that's just thrown together to make a buck.

I knew Andy tried a couple of regular series after he bowed out of the original "Andy Griffith Show." I think one was called "The New Andy Griffith Show" and another one was called "Headmaster." I never knew he did special variety shows.
