The amount of people on here moaning about Rodri’s candid comment, including Andy, is ridiculous. Rodri has been playing 2-3 high intensity matches at the highest levels of the game for years and is on a 66 match unbeaten run for both club and country. He is the glue and single most important player for his club and country. It’s not just the physical side of the game that gradually wears the body down each season. A player like Rodri is laser focused every second of every game and he literally does not lose. It becomes mentally fatiguing over the course of high octane seasons year after year at the very top challenging for all the top trophies. He’s human and that’s the reality. So many people are talking about their day jobs and how “hard” they work. That’s completely irrelevant. Rodri is literally the best player in his position in the entire world and gets paid very good money as a result. Can you say the same about yourself? Chances are very likely if you’re spending time commenting on here, then absolutely not. The guy has earned everything that has come his way. He’s a gem of a player and fantastic to watch.

You’re tired because your job is meaningless, you get paid peanuts, and still have to answer to a boss who’s probably making 12 quid an hour. Rodri is tired because he’s played almost every minute of a 70 games season for the last four seasons.

The difference is that City have no passengers. There’s no Reiss Nelson or Emile Smith-Rowe’s or Anthony Martial’s or Curtis Jones or Bajcetic’s taking up roster spots, everyone is quality. That being said they have used the fewest amount of players of any team in the league (it might actually be bottom three, but it’s close to the bottom regardless and less players than every other big six team)

What about the people who get up at 6am go gym then work a 9-5 and go back to the gym after whilst trying to make ends meet? Introduce these footballers to the real world please. Footballers feel tired because they have never had to participate in the real world they don’t know what tired is.

What about it? Do you go to the gym to perform at a level that is the best gym performance in the world, and then go to work and be expected to be the best person in the world at your job otherwise someone else will come in and do it for you? I'm guessing not! Rodri does!

truth be told. rodri is the only genuine world class player in today’s game. could play in any era. you drop haaland, odegaard, vinicius, modric, de bruyne 25-30 years to serie A they would all be riding the bench. recoba and baggio were twice the player de bruyne and odegaard are right now and they were on the bench for inter milan
