That's got nothing to do with it, that's because once you had the league win, you didn't care, var arsenal 2004, because wenger had said the year before they could go unbeaten, so even for the last few games they tried to not lose. Bit normally once you had the title you didn't care that much, same as relegation, 40 points, sit back. The constant +90 points now is die to 1 team pushing the other. People can mock Arsenal and Liverpool all they want. But the reality is City are, and have been the constant standard, for coming up on a decade under Pep. People can mock Arteta, Klopp, and their sides all they want. But I have nothing but respect for both managers. They’ve created fantastic squads and have pushed a historically great City dynasty to their very limits again and again. Just because a team doesn’t win the title doesn’t mean they’ve crumbled and and are terrible. The margins are just razor thin with City as the standard bearer.

In the final table of 2023 Arsenal and Man city were level on points but Man City had one game in hand. Liverpool were 5 points clear and Spurs 1 point behind us. Lets assume both Arsenal and Man City win all their remaining games, which I not only believe is possible but actually likely. That will mean in 2024 Arsenal have dropped just 5 points, 2 of those away at Man City. Man City will of dropped 6 points, 2 of them at home to Arsenal. So in 2024 Arsenal have actually gained one point on Man City. If somebody had said to me on the 1st of January Arsenal will only drop 5 more points before the end of the season I would of said they were mad. If they had said to me that still wont be enough to win the league I would of said they were insane. From the 1st of January we would of had a 10 point turn around with Liverpool. A 15 point turn around with Villa, who were 2nd at the time. And a 13 point increase over Spurs. Our form has been remarkable, unforetuneately probably just not quite remarkable enough to over come a magnificent Man City side. Absolutely no shame in that. And anyone who tries to suggest Arsenal have been anything other than that is simply a.........they know what they are but sadly I wouldn't get away with saying it here.

The big difference is Utd would only make one big signing with few promising ones mostly. Where city since around 2013 consistently made 3/4 big signings. Utd never had two top/top players for every position. That’s why city have been so dominant. There has never been a squad like it. Yes great teams but city have an incredible squad that’s the difference.

This city team is the greatest team we've ever seen. Winning so much in such a period of dominance.

Not enough teams hate man city. Aston villa was super motivated to beat arsenal. Back in Man United era there was always some teams that would go 120% for one game because that was their trophy for that year is beating United, Liverpool or Arsenal. Nobody ever seems to put that level in against city. Klopp's +90 point teams would win All but 5 premiere league seasons. If arsenal get 92 points they would win all but 7 seasons. Man United only had more than 90 once. If you get plus 90 points and loose season then realistically how much more can you do when by points in single season you are 8th best team ever to play in the Prem.

Where's Goldstein got this idea from that Arsenal fans will consider 2nd a success?! Its progress certainly, but ive not heard one gooner call it success

Compare that to City and Chelsea; in a very short time, they were spending a lot to have 2 players in every position, and if the players didn't work out, they would spend more. Arsenal have £100m players now. If they finish second, then it has to be winning other trophies. Klopp getting a lot of hate at the moment, but whenever he came second to City he won trophies. CL in 18-19 when they lost the title by a point and FA and league cups, as well as a runners up spot in the CL in 21-22 when they lost the league by a point again. Arteta nowhere near. How does it not make sense to say you haven’t won the league because another team is too good? Is that not the only reason that you don’t win the league that those other teams are better and are too good? Because if you win, then the other team were not too good. When Liverpool lost the league by one point they were by all accounts one of the best teams in Premier League history and they didn’t win because city were too good. The logic of dismissing that you didn’t win the league because the other team was too good makes absolutely no sense. This is a competition. That’s literally the only reason you don’t win. The difference between the top teams and the bottom teams is how many teams are too good.

In both Chelsea and Manchester City they've both fiddled their accounts and cheated ffp so clubs who've lived by the rules have been denied. That to me is reason enough to say the top team aren't getting there unless they've cooked the books

I agree with Andy on this. Many of we Arsenal fans are just holding on to this copium. We lost too many games in December(Fulham,WHU,Villa) we were wasteful and most importantly that loss to Villa at the Emirates is where Arteta fumbled with his selection and subs.. Moving Havertz back to midfield to accomodate Jesus in false9 and starting Zinchenko against Villa is ultimately the biggest reason we may lose the title (among others), not because of this "City are a machine" narrative.

Even though we’re likely getting 3 more world class players this summer plus Timber coming back who is a baller and getting another year of experience in one of the youngest squads in the league - make it make sense😂 🤡

nxt yr teams will have worked arsenal out... they needed to have won prem last yr or win it this or it'll probably be to late...they get 9, 10 players back behind the ball in and around the penalty box and keep everyone central....opposition will keep wide players out on the touch lines and try and get in behind and pull the ball back...

@@jaym892 man city just have the best squad, just too many top quality players to stop , there isnt to much can be done as in working them out, in my opinion.... the rest of us need to find away of playing thats effective, Arsenal have good players , great attitude and arteta has them playing in way thats working for them.. he has then drilled and trained to play a certain way...and mostly relies on arsenal scoring the 1st goal. man city just engulf u..😬
