Here’s what I’ll say. I got out of the Army after 9 years as a paratrooper in the infantry in April . I’ve been re-learning how to be a civilian again and I used to skate before the army. I started skating again and have been watching this guy Andy and I’m thankful for how passionate he is. As an old ex skater that never quite let go of the vibe...this kid is switched right on! How awesome to see a young dude redefining what skating is, what a board should be (old school Hosoi shape, ftw!) and bringing such a great attitude. Dude will go a long way in the world 👌

I love how truly interested Andy is in the sport and the board tech. It’s the difference between the average person and the folks that stand out. You need to truly care enough to want to spend the time required to do something incredible; and you need to be interested enough to be able to ask the questions that no one else did. You have to be deeply in love with what you’re doing, but then have to drive to pursue it. My guy has it all lol. Andy seems like a pretty rad dude.

Because of Andy I decided to pick up skating again...he is so inspiring!! I bought the flightdeck and am still getting used to it's strange shape...but I'm pulling tricks I never did before!! Thank you for this video...always wondered what Andy's set up was.
He is open minded. Incredibly creative. Probably my favorite skater today. Love watching him skate with so much freedom.
I remember growing up I am 43 all the boards a different shapes the freestyle boards were like popsicle sort of the street and ramp boards had huge tails with no nose it was a common thing back then it's so cool to see Andy bringing that back it's more than just a different graphic you know it's a totally different board totally different experience to ride it
Andy is an amazing skater... and now I realize he’s just a genius in all aspects
I’m an old skater from the 80s 90s, I don’t ride any more as I never was that good but I still love watching the next generation doing their thing and Andy is one of the most endearing sk8 nerd there is!
Heck yeah, Andy is awesome! Also, his board is A M A Z I N G. Not even joking, it's amongst my favourite boards I've skated so far (I've got the 8.45" one). Yes, you do need to adjust to how it's not a popsicle and yes the wide wheelbase might not be for everyone. But the shape is crazy awesome.

He skates so many styles that the biggest complaint about his videos is that they don't stay in one lane. Like if he decided to put out a handrail part and a flatbar part and a curb part and a bowl part and a part of just circus tricks and flatground, he could.
I have that same grip tape! Picked it for my first board a couple months back getting into skating, didn't realise it was Andy's that's so cool :)

Andy rides the gear I used to ride almost 30 years ago, rail guards, wide trucks, big boards, helmet … he lists the most ‘hated’ tricks as being the justification for the shape and owns it. Ride what you want how you want when you want.

He spent all that time explaining why his board is shaped so weird and I still have no idea why it's shaped so weird it all went totally over my head lmao
Can you make adjustable rails ? Like a have a long oval metal insert with 3 holes on each so you can change the angles and how far in or out the rails are set. Also you would have oval hardware holes on the rails and a special design of hardware
I would say those were incremental gains with everything on the AA deck. No wonder they sell for at least $100. All that R&D etc in it. Whew. Also I've tried the Mini Logo trucks and they're fun. Thanks to all for this.
That sideways boardslide ollie he talked about around 12 minutes in would totally work - you can do a "sideways ollie" just by hopping a primo stand from riding stance but keeping your feet touching the board as you drag upwards with the heels. If a scrub like me can get a mini jump going from that technique, Andy Anderson could absolutely do a proper mini ollie of at least several inches off the rail.
No One ever thought freestyle skating would be brought up on the nine club until now.
Andy's mind is so much like surfer/shaper George Greenough.. way outside the box. His ideas about expanding what u can do with rails is pretty cool.
