Google has refined the battery saver Icon at the top of the screen, it was a red colour in Android 13 but now orange colour on Android 14, when you go in the extreme battery saving menu and select essential apps you now get a plus and an X symbol instead of tick boxes, also would be nice to see multiple schedules for bedtime and do not disturb mode as during the week I sleep both nights and daytimes on different days

Just updated my pixel 6 to Android 14. I am so happy about how far Android has come, my first Android phone ran on Android 2.3 gingerbread, while it was good for the time, I recall the icons used to vanish after exiting a game. 😂 it was janky and rough.

As a rooted pixel 7pro user, who went great lengths to enable call recording, I see absolutely no point in updating to v14 and having even more problems. Thank you for the review, it helped me to make the decision. But how do I disable the phone from nagging about the update?

Someone said that you can adjust the clock's translucency on the lock screen too? Also how small can you make the clock, can you remove it all together? I'm still waiting on my P7. Thanks.

How do you quickly select another home screen? If you had multiple home screens because you have many apps, on Android 13 there were dots on the bottom that you can just select to quickly move to that screen. How do I do this on Android 14?

Yes it brought drastic changes, but not in UI. For example it's now even harder to mod and record calls. Definitely not worth the update.

can you prevent notification shade from sliding down if phone is locked? in case one losses the phone, no one will be able to swipe down and put phone on flight mode. don't know if thats possible now

Its an Android 14 feature and Apps must support it. Android 13 only has the animation when exiting an app with back gesture. It's a multi year release feature and maybe only with 15 on by default
