It's not just a bad road that goes from single track to duel back to single along it's entire length but it also has 'average speed cameras' dotted all along it that makes travelling on it incredibly frustrating as people panic and then go down to 40mph which along a busy single lane makes overtaking impossible.

Tell me how renewable energy in Scotland is going to work in one of the poorest countries in Europe. How do we store the power generated during the day to service the the evening demand. What people forget or don’t know cold water takes an enormous amount of energy to heat up and an enormous amount of space to store, not forgetting the maintenance of these systems Then the fights begin to see who gets the first shower. There’s great example of this in the people’s palace room kitchen with steel tub in front of the coal fire, how very private in this society who can’t make its mind up what it is. Only now it’ll be in front of the wood burner, with the cry you better have sanitised it when you’ve finished with it. It’s like a Billy Connolly sketch from the 60’s How very sustainable.

"How do we store the power generated during the day to service the the evening demand." It's so simple..Gravity Hydro...pump the water up hill during the Day, then when needed, let it back down to power the grid. We have been doing that here in Scotland for 50years with fossil fuel, now we can do it with renewables. And remember when folks lived like that, and wonder why you can't envisage a more enlightened future for personal hygiene.

Och Neil....ye ken ....you know your havering mannie... The simple answer is Scotland must create its own Central Bank, thus creating its own currency, which it can set its own interest rates and it will be agreed by the BIS , IMF etc Its simple, there is no other way. Regarding the confirmation that all pensions will be honoured, under EU rules funds must be set aside for the existing pensions, obviously from the day of Independence then its a new system. Before the referendum a Scots Constitution must be created submitted to the UN, EU and all countries around the world, after independence ratified in the new Scottish Parliament.

No sane person could pretend that Britain runs a 'capitalist' economy; it is full of special interest restrictions that would be utterly intolerable in the country that actually does run a capitalist economy. Corruptions there are really ultra-sophisticated, deeply embedded, and so long-standing as to be largely invisible. It is as corrupted as could be; how the benighted largely abused and often impoverished population labours under all these difficulties one really does wonder - but of course ordinary English people have always been kicked, ever so cleverly, in the gonads, by whichever ruling group that happens to find itself in a position to abuse and oppress. Compared with the dreadful and ever-worse reality in brexit England, places running more socially integrated societies such as France, Sweden, Holland, Norway, Finland are vastly nicer places to live for the overwhelming majority of the citizenry. Sturgeon is a reaction generated by a Scotland which has a living standard not much higher than 60% that of small, resource-starved Denmark. What does Neil want??? He seems a strange man now. Has he not seen the grim reality of his country of accent???

As you say there was a referendum in 2014 so it's done. Johnson gets a lot of stick but he's canny and a Unionist. It is in his reasonable gift to just say no to a second ref given the 60% pronouncement. Even with the latest tax rise manifesto revisions he is very cleverly and consistently pulling the rug from under Labour who in my view will not get into government again for a generation.

Brexit totally changed things for Scotland, so on that basis I think they have a right to another referendum, and a chance to rejoin the EU. In Nicola Sturgeon's position I would just organise another referendum, regardless of what Boris wants. Short of sending in the army, there's nothing he can do to stop it, and if the majority vote for an independent Scotland standing in the way of this would probably be politically untenable.
