Andrew Hall Woodturner and his new Record Power Coronet Herald
Ойын-сауық
During covid I produced a number of videos for Record Power using the Coronet Herald. I decided to buy the last one which was the show room model from Snainton woodturning a lovely family business Ive known for over 20 years with the view to making some short videos using the Herald.

oh exciting…still a bit nervous about using my herald, so will watch these carefully. I learnt so much important stuff watching your ‘put herald together’ vid. 😃👍🏻

Cheers Ash I’m going back to how it all began starting with a tool handle
Hi Andrew. Question for you. The lowest speed on the coronet lathe is 250, is that low enough or do you think a low speed like on the powermatic would be better?

Hello Jack thanks for the question, it depends on what you want to do, if it’s thread chasing I find it fine for that with 20tpi chasers but if its for applying lacquer while the piece is rotating I would go for a lower speed lathe. I have a powermatic 3520B and both are great lathes but there’s a big difference in cost. No experience with a Powermatic smaller lathe but I’m sure if it anything like the 3520 it will be great engineering. Hope that helps
