I've never commented on any of these videos before. Its interesting to see people debate something thats just a spare of the moment jam session for us. All of us in this band are fortunate enough to work with a lot of different artist across the board, but every once in a while we get to just play and blow off steam, and thats all this was. Even when the sound is terrible like this situation. Its just a way to let loose, and not have to worry about pleasing a singer or an MD or industry big wig. If youre looking for perfection, keep searching. If youre looking for guys who truly love what they do, big money or not, keep looking. Thanks for your support and your critique, but we were just spazzin out looking for those special moments that you just fall into sometimes. Be blessed. PS> Thanks Leelu for always blessing the LA music community with your videos. We love and appreciate you.

Don't worry about the hater trolls. They're on YT just to spread negative vibes. This was an awesome jam session. Much love from Memphis...your home town and Hillcrest High. You gave lessons to me and Pastor Kenny Hollins back in the day. I'm still doing some of the licks you taught me...lol. Keep on playing bro!

Spot on, mr. Hayes. I just love watching artists of your stature showing the world that making good music is not about production or perfection, but about the synergie that arises from musical minds coming together in the moment. Keep doing what you love, so people like me can keep loving what you do.
This was very fun to watch! RIP Darrell Crooks
Awesome Andrew Gouche, one of my favorite bassist!
I met Mr. Gouche last night. One of the nicest and humble men I've ever met.

TiAnthony Wagner Awesome! He seems like he would be a cool guy. He's certainly a beast on bass. A few years ago, I met Nathan East, and he's one of the humblest and nicest people I've met. Must be something about bass players. : )
Man! I miss these guys.
Band of brothers
Dude, I love this! They all had me laughing my but off!! These guys are fantastic musicians and have so much fun. I love the interplay between the guys during the improv changes! It was anyone’s choice and it was great to watch!! Groove masters corner!! Sweet jam sesh!

Belo música, com ótimos instrumentistas.
Listening and smiling ,enjoying the artistry and musical expression- as a fellow musician I get , I get the freedom of a jam session and feeding off each other . trust me I get and feel it!
I'm a fan, Andrew!
This was 1 of the baddest, dopest, coolest jam sessions I've ever heard. I viewed it yrs ago and revisited it today after viewing Darrell Crooks homegoing. RIP Darrell. Jam on my fellow minstrels and may you constantly do what brings God glory!
Wooooooow!!!! WHAT A TREAT!
Amazing job blessings from the most high God he’s good, I thank him for music, he gave it to us to share and soothe the Savage Heart🙏🏾❤️🎹
WOW AG is soulful on the bass!
That was beautiful; I think I would have probably lost my mind if I were actually there, hearing it being created right there in front of me. This ability to transmit vibes and impact emotions so powerfully via musical instruments will forever be mystery to me; I probably don't even need to understand the mystery, just grateful for its existence.
Grooovesazo!
Eddie Brown is amazing as always, just wish the keys audio was louder. Andrew Gouche holding it down in spectacular fashion
Jammin!!!!
Well said, Sir. and thank you. People that would debate this and not appreciate this are not players and live music lovers.

Sorry I'm late to the party, but BOY what a treat that was! All of it was fantastic, but as a novice bass player, I lost my mind at 10:00. In fact, right after posting this comment, I'mma play it AGAIN! Looks like I'm going to have to be an online protege of Mr. Gouche.
Andrew Gouche, is super bassist
Drummer is killing! Left hand lead smooth as butter, nice work Gorden!

Rip crooks. One of the baddest cats I did gigs w/ around L.A.

That's open hand technique. A friend of mine taught himself to work open and crossed 30 years ago to open up more possibilities. It's just practice practice practice... Good luck trying. It will mess with your head at first. Once you've got it, the possibilities are endless.
Mannn!...you can really see the fire in their eyes😂😂😂

What's going on with their eyes??
Eddie is messing up the vid
andrew gouche should not be playing that kind of music thats why they all have that devilish glow in there eyes lol just joking.
It's so dfficult to watch, I keep getting out of breath and passing out.
Fun. Great playing! Sorry to be negative, but one of the things that drives me nuts, is when one great exit sign after another appears for an ending, and the band just keeps blowing right through them. Players: when you set up an obvious direction to end a tune, but just keep playing, it’s ANTI-climatic! Like a comic who sets up a great joke, but simply won’t tell the punch line. Pretty soon, people start leaving. I turned off the video. Couldn’t take it anymore.

Good God... 10 years ago when cell phones weren't the affordable HD camera systems that they are today, we would have never seen this. These guys aren't in the studio making a record they are just having fun. My point is that we are lucky to even be seeing this. Who cares that the song didn't get resolved cleanly. It's a jam.
The sax actually ruins most of the jam

don hayes is his name if you don't know him, shows why your thoughts are unimportant
Gouche is a monster. One of the greats. BUt he refers to himself as a gospel musician which take him out of the conversation of GOAT. The greats are journeymen who covers ALL genres of music. Marcus MIller, Alex Al, Anthony Jackson, Jaco, Victor Wooten (to name a few) have never referred to themselves as this type of artist/musician. I suggest Leelu do her homework prior to saying he's the GOAT. Not even in that conversation amongst his peers...
@edennard1

Might I suggest that you look at his resume...He's played and is still currently playing in all genres of music.. He was Chaka Khans MD for a few years, and was actually playing with Prince before Prince's untimely death also early in his career he was playing with Phyliss Hyman, Cheryl Lynn and Glady's Knight and other's as well in other musical genres besides Gospel so again my I suggest that you also do your homework as you suggested to Leelu that she should do hers...Peace and Blessings
The Dude on keys doing too much. That's the turn off on this video .Too many looks from this dude! Bro do your job!

@@tybrown4540 1000 percent!! The Sax player is obviously covering the lead line and should be comped accordingly. Pocket players nowdays are virtually non existant sadly it is a lost art.

Stop it. Eddie Brown is a legend. Him calling stuff out isn’t him NOT playing in the pocket. as the only board player, he’s the band leader behind the lead sax so he’s simply communicating the chord, hits, etc. that he wants the rest of the accompanying instruments to make so that they’re all on the same page. Wrong or not. Cuz it was clear that not everyone in the band was playing the same version. So Eddie was doing what any one of them could’ve done; keep everybody locked in and on the same page. Signs of an experienced musician and band leader.
