Man, that Apple Blossom song......what a beautiful sentiment.
I have been a longtime fan of Esperanza, which made me select this video years ago. It was such a delightful find. This version of the Truth lies Low crossed my mind today. Your violin at the end fills my spirit and to follow it up with the herbie hancock makes my heart soar every time while Esperanzas bass keeps me grounded, tethered. You two are ABSOLUTE magic together.

OMG this is the best thing ever! I love both of these phenomenal artists. Esperanza is so adorable and Andrew Bird...charming.
I find myself coming back to this time and time again. Their love, passion and dedication to their art is so inspiring. So much talent and beauty in this recording, it's amazing. What beautiful souls.
Just saw Esperanza open for Andrew at Ravinia. So cool to find this!
Two amazing musical minds and personalities both of whom I'd love to see share the stage, play tunes, and chat about the craft.... ....WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS! YES! YES! SO GOOD
The first piece is Journey in Satchidananda (Alice Coltrane).
How have I not come across this before? Two of my favourites
This is like two child prodigies having fun !! good combo! Enjoy like children playing

This is a masterclass in juxtaposing rhythms, from a pair of very talented musicians. Very very cool.
Seriously how could you dislike this GEM? intelligent beautiful human beings making MAGIC and you don't like it?????? HOW?
That first song is Alice Coltrane's "Journey in Satchidananda".

It reminded me of Journey in Satchidananda before I actually knew. The bass. Really good.
Raro momento de se sentir feliz e orgulhoso de ser brasileiro. Cheers Esperanza and Andrew

Wonderful! And, a huge thank you for sharing links to the original pieces, too. 🎶🌸
Esperanza Spalding is my hero. Great to see Andrew Bird in action as well. Giants.
Excellent jam session. ★♡♥
They did a concert series in July 2017. Interesting duet!
That's such beautiful music. Thank you.
Luv when the beat changes to a litte more urban and she starts to rock with it, wish that part could have been longer, but great collaboration! I could listen to them together all day .😊
Such sweet playing. The combination of instruments and sound makes me think of land of spirit and light / Michael White
YESSSS THIS IS EVERYTHING I WANT
This is soooooo good!!!

The total sound I'm hearing is that of a smooth bag-pipe thing - it sounds so good.
AMAZING !!
Fantastic!
Andrew is a monster player! Great duo!
What a pearl coming by!
I enjoyed that alot.
Que MARAVILHA!
So "chic" ! Perfect duo, great music. Andrew Bird's music is a medecine for the soul. Funny to see his usual bass player at the guitar ;)
BRAVO!!!!BELISSIMO!
When she was just a Child she was playing violin in an symphony orchestra.

The first piece almost has a bagpipe like drone.I’ve heard Esperanza mention first hearing the bagpipes up close. 😲
Imagine walking into your house after a long day and just basking in this music
Brilliant times ten!
Inspiring.
Gostei! LOVE
At 0:50 is the best rendition of Alices piece that I've ever heard thus far.
Wow!
my 2 favourite instruments! i do play violin and electric bass but i want to switch from electric to to upright bass.
maestro
Gorgeous
Direct inspiration from the deep well...This is a bass line from Alice Coltrane's Journey to Satchinanda...Pharoah Sanders playing is resplendent and haunting.
Beautiful music, side note: like her look/outfit
wow
Stuff Smith love? Check. I love both of them, so much.

The dialogue between them is pretty brittle initially, not sure why, but it gets so rich.
Blow your mind if you got one. Boom 💥
4 minutes in and Im about to have a holy moment...
Esperanza my love!
this is really great. does someone now which milton songs did esperanza worked on to do her apple blossom one?
you need to put that plant in a bigger planter. thanks for the music.
I love the Alice Coltrane vibes
@22:18 Truth lies low
12:15 🇧🇷❤️
Looks like she is using a Fishman FCL pickup. Any ideas on the make and model including price range of her bass? The sound is very full, mellow, and crystal clear. Would like to invest in a step up from my starter bass. Investigating options and this bass definitely caught my eyes and ears.
He's wearing my favorite slippers! Sorel Manawans ftw.
22:18 GIVES ME LIFE....
andrew really went off, on that first one especially
Love that mud cloth boo.

How does this have less than 10k views

The "k" (not "K") is an abbreviation of "thousand." So 10k means 10,000 people which is not bad for a video published in July.

Eu não acredito em re-encarnação, mas se acreditasse diria que é a re-encarnação da Billie Holiday.
