Andreas Helgstrand riding Blue Hors Matine at WEG 2006 Aachen, Germany.
Full ride of the most famous dressage Freestyle to music. Without commentary.
Matine is a Silvermoon x Matador danish warmblood mare born in 1997. The mare was bought by Blue Hors as a young filly.
At the 2007 FEI World Cup in Las Vegas, Matine got injured by falling off the lorry ramp. The mare never really recovered from that injury and the horse was retired from competion. She was enjoying her life with a herd of other mares on her way to become a broodmare. In 2010, she broke her leg in the field and had to be put down.
Helgstrand and Matine won the silver medal in the Freestyle at the 2006 World Equestrian Games.

A horse with natural rhythm! seemed to be definitely'feeling' the music! A lovely hug from rider at end, this is special stuff.
Andreas. I've watched hundreds of dressage rides.I'm no pro but I love you and Matine The BEST! Love Matine's switchy tail keeping time to the music like she loves doing what she's doing. I know this an old show but as long as people can enjoy this Matine will never die. I was broken hearted to hear she had passed. ♥♥♥

That "switchy" tail is flying all over when the horse is doing the most difficult moves! That ISNT enjoyment! I have never seen anyone ask for such sustained difficulty. The horse is a saint! I would have thrown his ass!
Just saw a video of her on top buzz and now I'm going through all the videos I can find of her. So sorry that she's gone on over the rainbow bridge. She was truly a beautiful and talent horse. So glad I found these videos. Can't stop smiling while watching her.

I LOVE Blue Horse Matine and Andreas Helgstrand!! Music selection and routines have always been right on. My heart got another crack in it a few weeks ago when I learned of Matine's death. I am very sorry to those that were fortunate enough to know Matine. And, I'm sorry for all of us who love to watch Andreas and Matine. I Thank God for video and for blessing us all with this soul gripping team.

I have been watching dressage videos for many years. I have no clue as to why I find this activity so beautiful. I have never ridden horses (except an hour or two at summer camp.) What is so helpful to me, are the comments made by people who really know what is amazing about certain movements with the time that it occurs. Please, Teach Me Tonight, (Amy Winehouse cover). So, "people who know" ramp it up for liull ol" me. Yes?
Das stimmt das pferd wirkt sehr angespannt. Hab mal gesehen welche unterschiede es zum eestrrn dresur gibt. Da werden die pferde nicht so extren kurz gezuegelt. Hab das video hier auf you tipe entdeckt. Dercwestrnreiter hst dann das dressurpferd geritten und es sah viel entspannter aus.

Sie geht ganz locker durchs Genick. Und beim Zügel-aus-der-Hand-kauen-lassen streckt sie sich vorwärts-abwärts, was bedeutet, dass sie den Zügel angenommen hat und sich an die Reiterhand anlehnt. Wenn der Zügel sie einengen würde, würde sie dann den Kopf wegstrecken. Sie ist auch nicht zu eng gezügelt, soweit ich gesehen habe, war die Nase immer kurz vor der Senkrechten und da soll sie hin (in dieser Posittion kann das Pferd sich gut bewegen und das Reitergewicht tragen).
An extremely beautiful and talented gal - no wonder her owners were so proud of her. It was indeed heartbreaking when she died but those of us who know and love our horses also understand that fatal injuries can and do occur at any time. As for the criticism levelled against Andreas Helgstrand, it is difficult to comment but I personally feel there are many instances where the horses look uncomfortable in their mouth and their movements seem forced and exaggerated but that's just my opinion and I am not an expert. R.I.P. Matine, you will be sorely missed.

I love this stuff my mom works at landmark farms and works with horse its my dream to have a horse or work somewhere were they horses love it you should watch this video

The horse seems quite irritated. Constant tail swishing. His back is so hollow and his head comes behind the vertical so often. Not classical. Not dressage. Sorry

"HIS"? You don't even know it's a mare?
I think she must have been a bit in heat. That tail is wringing off her body, but for the most part she looks fine. Floppy ears, nice and even extended trot, and I feel like Andreas might have been being very careful with the aids of his leg, seat, and spur. She knew what she was doing and did it well. That clapping at the end looks like it made her so happy! Love show mares!

Bridget L She was in the field and broke her leg. I believe she was also in foal at the time so it was tragic.

Ellie Cooper Its still unknown as to if she was in foal or not. She was still in recovery from breaking another leg at a show a few months prior. It is still a very tragic thing to have happened. She would have had excellent foals.
