As far as I’m concerned this is a Scottish tune called ‘McTavish is dead’ with the lyrics: “McTavish is dead and his brother don’t know it, his brother is dead and McTavish don’t know it. They’re both of them dead and they’re in the same bed and they neither of them know that the other is dead. His brother had suffered from chronic bronchitis, McTavish had suffered from peritonitis and both of them died and oh how they cried, when each of them realised the other had died!” Some of the best nonsense lyrics ever created!

I don't understand how there are no other comments on the poor piccolo who had to keep pace with all that. They only show him while the tempo is still rather slow and calm but they don't bother to show us his suffering as the windows to sneak even a tiny breath continue to shrink until he has to finish the last few stanzas without breathing at all. No wonder his last few notes are so shrill as he fights the urge to pass out in the last few moments. What a legend!!🤣🤣

I saw John Sheahan perform when he played with the Dubliners in my hometown, up North in The Netherlands. They played their butts of and were fantastic, just as great as het is in this video, both men are real musicians, love them.

@@Arsinoe22 : Exactly. The audience were so off the beat and off-tempo that as a performer, I would find it very difficult to stay in time. And as a listener, I found it very off-putting!
