I have a 7 year old son, we are from Brazil, I don't understand a word of Ilayaraja songs, but I show him and tell him that this is art and real movies. He enjoys Hollywood movies of super heroes and I tell him, this is ok but all bullshit, real movies talk about simple things about the beauty of life, of being together with who you like, and have nice songs and Melody, that's what I'm teaching him and wanting him to get educated, Thanks Ilayaraja for illustrating this so well with ur music and best movies too!!

What an extraordinary expressions in singing.. Balu garu: "ettana nALaDi" @ 2:15 and Janaki amma: "ragasiya rAtiri puttagamE" @ 3:58. Recently in a Telugu music show here in the US, Balu garu sang this beautiful song written in Telugu by the great poet Veturi garu (SundaramO sumadhuramO), and mentioned that he loves this pallavi in Tamil written by Vairamuttu garu so much that it depicts the blind man's character that says to his love, "I see your face in every drop of rain", what an extremely brilliant imagery.. just loved it! Thanks to Balu garu for bringing me here and also for this great song, and of course the composer Raja garu! It moves me so much proving again, music has no language! :)

Do you know thamizh? if not its very difficult to get the complex layers of imagery and emotions expressed so poetically as its very difficult to explain the layers. your comment seems to suggest you do, so more happiness to you, that you are able to undertsand the layers and verbal imagery constucted and the emotions and of course the music, voice singing and all other aspects. Dhegam yaavum theeyin dhaagam, dhaagam theere nee thaan megam being one example of the complex imagery lyrics/words music combination. Really beautiful

Superb Composition, excellent video composition . Above all, excellent singing by SPB Sir and S Janaki amma. Top of the world!! We miss you SPB Sir, there cannot be a singer like you ever. We are living everyday by listening to the songs sung or composed by you Sir. We miss you a lot sir!!!

Besides the marvellous contribution of all ( MD IR who generally notches a bit higher for Kamal , SPB, SJ, the Lyricist Vairamithu and of course Kamal the hero and the producer , Madhavi ) what stands out equally is the aesthetically pleasing and imaginative cinematography of Baroon Mukherjee. Why wasn't this good talent used in Tamil movies ?

2:55 to 3:10 no CGI no gimmicks just old fashioned art. And picturization was just doing a second act to the background score and the playback singers.

எத்தனை முறை கேட்டாலும் மீண்டும் கேட்க தோன்றும்... அழகான பாடல் வரிகள் இசை . அருமையை...

தனிமையிலே வெறுமையிலே எத்தனை நாளடி இளமையில கெட்டன இரவுகள் சுட்டன கனவுகள் இமைகளும் சுமையடி இள மயிலே ... என்ன ஒரு அற்புதம்.

Kamal sir's sketch became Kamal sir himself... i love to see this.... and i love the mastero IR s music... here instruments played like that of Beethovan music

He is beyond only he can produce coz he is only person (leave as composer and so called) feel the humans and god. every songs and BGMS give meaning and life to every humans. recently listened kannada song and tamil song (magudi ..) spell bounding
