Soul-Sympath auch in Ferropolis vorbeischauen, wo er eine Show ablieferte, die mindestens als einer der besten splash!-Auftritte 2016 in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Love.
Geht das noch als Nerd-Wissen durch oder ist das jetzt HipHop-Allgemeinbildung? - Bevor Breezy Lovejoy mit seiner Omnipräsenz auf Dr.Dres vielbeachtetem Comeback-Album "Compton" und dem anschließenden Senkrechtstart im Albumformat "Malibu" das letzten Jahr als Musiksnob-Liebling von der Pitchfork-Redaktion bis zur Pirmasenser Rundschau abschloss, debütierte er 2012 mit dem Album "O.B.E. Vol. 1" , das rund zwei Jahre später tatsächlich auf der Berliner Indie-Instanz Jakarta Records auch eine Vinyl-Veröffentlichung bekam. Indie is the new major und so. Man merke: Alles beginnt im Kleinen. Doch als Anderson .Paak im letzten Jahr erstmalig die Hauptbühne beim splash!19 beehrte, standen die Zeichen allerdings längst auf Superstar. Sein organisches Soul-Statement "Malibu", das den rebellischen Geist der Wattsatx-Ära mit geschmeidigen Bedroom-Tales kombinierte, dominierte seit Monaten die Playlists der Early Adopter und wuchs von Quartal zu Quartal immer mehr zu etwas, das man künftig als R&B-Klassiker bezeichnen könnte. Entsprechend großspurig trat der sympathische Strahlemann mit seiner Band The Free Nationals an diesem sonnigen Nachmittage in der Stadt aus Eisen auf. Ein emotionales Statement für Sunshine-Soul und eine hingebungsvolle Performance, die manchen Headliner in den Schatten stellen würde. Ganz so, wie er es selbst einst auf "Come Down" beschrieb: "You might never ever come down/It took too long to get this high off the ground". Ein echter splash!-Moment und vermutlich eine der letzten Gelegenheiten, diesen Weltstar in the making noch einmal so intim zu erleben. Außerdem performte der charismatische Rapper/Sänger/Multiinstrumentalist einen bis dato unveröffentlichen Song namens "Bubblin" - Weltpremieren-, aber mindestens Deutschland-Premieren-Alarm! Und wo? Genau, auf dem splash! 19.

What’s so dope about this is that the crowd seemed to have no idea who the hell Paak is. As the show went on and how much jammin Paak and the Nationals got, the crowd eventually was rockin with him. By the end, Paak won them over like Maximus in Gladiator. Paak is that dude for this generation YES LAWWWWDDDD

That's how you do it. Play every gig like it's your last. Never know who is recording this and turning their friends onto it. These videos will live on longer than the audience's memory of that day.

to be fair..this a tiny ass festival in the middle of nowhere :D i'm surprised they even got him for it. but yeah we don't move that much i guess :D they are better festivals for that stuff though

My first experience with anderson paak was in a basement under the admissions building with a crowd of 200 people with paak on a stage maybe three feet high...to this day the best and most intimate performance ive ever been to..
the mixing on this performance is insane

local staff sets up the system (referring to the technical riders they get from the bands in advance) but even small bands travel with their own thrusted sound engineer to mix the concert. quality production all in all

I've watched most of Anderson .paak's concerts and he is the HARDEST WORKING artist I've ever seen!! You're a freaking BEAST Anderson. He's exhausted but pushes himself amazingly. 700 fans or 7,000, he is gonna give us all he has!
