My fiancée passed away from cancer but shortly before she went Robert and the boys invited her to a show in San Francisco and sang her pictures of you while I wept like a baby . They even removed the seats in the baseball park so she could sit up front in her wheel chair. This is a band of saints to me forevermore. 👽🙏

in 2020, my ex-wife passed away from cancer at the age of 50. When she died, I held her hand, her favourite album was "Disintegration". This song reminds me a lot of you and the "Wish" and "Disintegration" albums. Goosebumps, memories...not easy right now. Sisi, you would like this song very much

@@JubeProductions that’s where you’re wrong. It all matters. Especially every small minute with your children. Every interaction you have with another person matters. Every moment you spend alone matters. You matter. What you bring to the world matters. And what you get from living matters. If this is all there is, how can you not savor every breath? And if there’s another life beyond the gauzy fade-out, how can you not want to embrace it fulfilled, with joy and enthusiasm? Live, friend! Live and be good! It’s all we know as truth!

@@EQuinn-cr9oc Yeah, right. I'm guessing Simon just had a hissy fit, then came back. He's done it before. He knows he's completely dependant on Robert. Nobody would listen to him if he struck out and did his own thing, as an amazing of a bassist he is. He really suits The Cure, but, again, he just wouldn't make it without Robert. I think that might have something to do with his lashing out a while ago when he "quit" the band. It's also kind of ironic that when he actually did quit the band for a while back in the 80s, Robert put out The Top, one of their best albums ever, which also includes amazing bass lines by Robert himself.

I want to comment on this song, hard to know where to start. Saw the Cure last night in San Diego. It was a mess getting in, show was sold out. Wife and I were super stressed, because we knew they’d be playing Pictures of You second, and seeing that song live was a bucket-lister for us both. We got to the stage, just before they played it. I thought that song would be my favorite to hear, but three songs later, they played this song. I think most people at the show were probably hearing it for the first time, as was I. I can say with all certainty that hearing this song live, at a sold out show and with the love of my life, was one of the most powerful moments in my 45 years on this planet. We were both welled up, caught in the middle of this sad but utterly ethereal energy. Nobody captures that emotion better than The Cure and it’s so good to see they can still maintain such brilliance in a new song, even after so many albums and decades of song writing. I’ll have that memory for the rest of my life. I love you Sum.

Engaged at 18 and married at 22 and now senior citizens (time goes fast so love and laugh). I once heard Robert talk about losing personal items in a fire and how losing one’s mind would be a terrible loss. The boy in my story is struggling with dementia and played in a band himself and is unable to even tune a guitar. But, the music and the songs are loud and clear. Thank you to this band for the music and Robert for his words that hold you while you listen. It is the best hug for us as we listen to The Cure every day.
Promise you'll be with me in the end Say we'll be together with no regret For however far away You will remember me tonight Promise you'll be with me in the end Say we'll be together and you won't forget For however far away You will remember me in time And slide down close beside me In the silence of a heartbeat You'll wrap your arms around me In a murmured lullaby Is the memory of the first time In the stillness of a teardrop I'll hold you for the last time In the dying of the life And I know I know For my world has grown old And nothing is for ever And I know, I know My world has grown old But it really doesn't matter If you say we'll be together If you promise you'll be with me in the end Promise you'll be with me in the end I know I know My world has grown old And nothing is forever And nothing is forever And I know I know My world has grown old But it really doesnt matter If you say we'll be together If you promise you'll be with me in the end Promise you'll be with me in the end Slide down close beside me In the silence of a heartbeat

This makes me feel very nostalgic for the 80's. It's just his voice. Best decade to be young, EVER

It's been an awesome ride. I don't ever want to get off. Roberts Smiths words always take me to a beautiful place.
Have been playing this for a while now 😢 these are tender loving words. My husband and I have been together since we were kids. Missed the tour as I watched our granddaughter so our kids could go to two shows. I hope I get the opportunity to one day hear this live. Best band ever!

Classic Cure! Very beautiful song.
Gli Artisti, con la A maiuscola, riescono a trovare il cuore pulsante dell'umano anche in tempi dolorosi e agonizzanti - e culturalmente poveri - come questo. Bellissima canzone e grande profilo musicale!
I lost my dad less than a year ago. The first time I heard this song, I started crying seconds into it. No lyrics, no background story, no context. All memories of me hanging in with him in the end came back with pure melody.
I usually don't relate Cure songs to my partner and me, but this one, I do. He is only a fan of Cure lyrics, not Cure music, but the lyrics in this song, and the immersive music, caused me to cry, and now I cannot stop playing it, and thinking of my partner.
