This is the most advanced dance routine I have ever seen because he manages to combine tango, with tap and flamenco, on occasion switching rapidly between the three of them. This is exceptionally hard to do because each danceform requires you to have your centre of gravity in a different place. I know some dancers who can't switch once, let alone twice or move it up and down their bodies as G does here. Ballet dancers remain forever elevated, and so do not make good tango dancers. In Tango your centre of gravity is around your pelvis; in ballet in the rib cage. Here he switches from the centre of gravity just about the knees (tap), to tango (pelvis) to lower ribs (flamenco). The slow section is particularly impressive because there is no escape. He had to work out where to place his centre of gravity for doing a combination of tap and tango. You can see it resides in his upper thighs, not perfect for either dance form, but better than using the pelvis region alone (tango) for the tap side of things or the knees for the tango. This is why it was so hard for him to do this. Incredible. PS I was a Tango Argentino dancer for 12 years. I danced 23 hours of tango every week on top of my full-time job (on Saturdays I danced non-stop from 7pm to 4am in the morning...totally hooked). After my first two years ibn London, I went to Buenos Aires to learn from the masters there. My teachers were the children of the people who created the dance form - the immigrants who bought it over and then developed it further., so very authentic.
