I will never forget this ! I remember it like it was yesterday so happy I came across this video on a random late night KZread search. I was 20 getting ready in the morning for work and said to myself DAMN did they really just do that on air,yes they did. But leading up to this for years you could just feel the tension between these two. Jim Ryan always made smart ass comments to Oliver on air and any chance he could get he loved humiliating and belittling him. I think old Ollie just had enough of Jim's shit that day ! That being said both are pure nostalgia for New Yorkers who grew up in the 80s-2000's. Every day before school in the mid/ late 80s throughout mid 90s my Mother would have Good Day NY on TV when I woke up and came down stairs in the morning.

I know a lot of managers that are unfit. At least this station had enough sense to demote this guy.

For all of you asking "Why couldn't he come up with a question?", it's the reporter's job to interview the people involved. It's not his job as an anchor to come up with the questions. It's like a prosecutor asking a judge how to cross-examine somebody.

The anchor made it pretty clear that he wants a simple reply from the woman. The reporter was passive aggressive at this point. I understand he doesn't want to be micromanaged but he is acting like his job is just to hold the microphone.

There's two women that host the evening news on Fox 5 that seem to not like one another. They both are very attractive and dress well however the one on the our eft seemed unhappy to work with the one on our right. 😢

It's from the july 2001 Fox 5 Good Day NY morning news show. Jim Ryan the ancor and Dick Oliver is the field reporter. Both of them worked together for years on this morning show and they both always were smart assess to each other and this day it blew up on air

Nobody liked Jim! He challenged everybody! Especially Lynn White... I heard her during a commercial break " I'm sick of your shit Jim"!..They forgot to turn off the microphones. 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣 After the commercial break Lynn was gone and never returned after that!
