I know I go through things quickly - you may want the 27 page handout - it has lots of images and covers ALOT that isn't in the video. You can get it here: ancestryaimee.etsy.com or sign up on YT for Aimee's Crew.

I sometimes use the ancestry app, but most of the time I open my browser (currently using Safari) and go to ancestry that way, combining the usefulness of the “computer version” with the convenience of a tablet. I am doing this primarily because my computer died about a year ago and I cannot afford to get it fixed or replaced, but the tablet is the next best thing. Also, between my iPhone and my iPad, taking photos, scanning photos, or uploading audio/video clips is simplified! Thanks for this video! I believe it will open up new paths for people!

I prefer my desktop computer because I often have multiple screens open. But I do use my iPad when the desktop is in use by my husband. The best use I have found for using Ancestry on the iPad is that the iPad is portable! When I’m visiting a family member or am on a genealogy road trip, I always have my ancestors with me and can share pictures and stories or do research. Thanks for all your great teaching, Amy!

Thank you for this! I have used my Ipad, but I'd rather work on my laptop. I was using my Ipad the other day and I wondered where the Thrulines were at. Now I know. Soimetimes I use my Ipad as another screen instead of having multiple tabs open.

I do like using my iPad. I sometimes have to use my Microsoft edge to look deeper, but I have a standup TV tray I work on my tree. My computer is old and it is harder to start up. Love the video to the iPad version you did. Your videos are very helpful. 😊

How did you get started in genealogy? I watch videos on ancestory academy and they help. You and Connie Knox are my favorite genealogists to watch. I really learn a lot and take notes. I had a tree for my adopted. Going by what she said she had told me about people who were related to her but not the person she thought they were to her. I got most of it straightened out but it was a mess.

@user-ic4xm1di6j thank you! I really appreciate your kind words. I was the only granddaughter on both sides of my family and both grandma‘s were into genealogy. I loved to hear the stories. I got more serious about it when I was a late teen. Some years when my kids were home, I didn’t do much, but I have been working on my family history for a long time.

Thank you for your overview. I primarily use my computer for research as I like the use of multiple screens and tabs but I do occasionally use my iPad. I have a question for those of you who are iPad Ancestry users.... if I am in a document with a large number of pages and I want to skip 100 pages, how is that done on the app. I only see the next page arrow. Thank you!

You’re welcome. I don’t see a way to skip pages rather than go page by page with the arrow keys. I agree. That’s something they need to fix.

I am using the ancestry mobile app on my Google pixel fold. So far I am not having any problems using the app on my foldable phone . I just need a more comprehensive tutorial on how to use the mobile app and how to build a family tree using the app.
