And this is why Kakashi is the best character in Naruto. He has been through every horrible event you can imagine. His father committed suicide and Kakashi found him, one of his teammate friends sacrificed his life to save Kakashi's, Kakashi unintentionally killed his other teammate friend (leaving no more teammates on Team Minato) after she jumped in front of his attack, Kakashi then led numerous missions in the Anbu during which time he killed hundreds of people and deepened his depression, and then Minato died leaving exactly 0 members other than Kakashi from Team Minato. And yet, despite how he really only had Guy left at that point (thank God for Guy; who knows where the Naruto universe would be without him), Kakashi managed to rise from his depression; become the most accomplished Anbu member ever; a very accomplished jonin team leader; an expert in taijutsu, strategic thinking, shuriken throwing, ninjutsu, and really, every area of being a ninja; and then Hokage. He lost everything, but came back stronger and more mature than ever and embodies everything that a ninja is, and that is why Kakashi is the best.

Itachi literally watched his friend kill him self, to then go work for the people who made him do it, who made him kill most of his family and clan and watch his crush get killed, to then live a fake life as a rouge ninja, to work for a guy who helped kill his clan in a group who are opposed to the cause that he killed his clan for, to only let himself lose in a fight with his brother, hoping it would make him a better person, only to watch him become evil and try to destroy the leaf. Kakashi’s dad and a friend died, and the other friend ran away.

Kakashi's father killed himself when he was young Because of that he became hard headed and believed only one ideology until Obito snapped him out of it Watched his friend sacrifice himself to save him from getting crushed and witnessed his supposed death (and actual death again) Accidentally killed his friend/comrade so she couldn't be used as a weapon (which takes a heavy toll on him mentally) Then ended up losing not only his sensei but as well as his sensei's wife in the 9 tail attack This made him a cold and fairly distant person to his students until Hiruzen created team 7 to help with Kakashi's deal Rarely if ever do we see him break under all that stress Pretty hard life if you ask me.

You know... kakashi is probably the most emotionally broken character in this anime.

Kakashi will forever and always be my favorite character.

Guys can we all just take a second and remember that pain is relative? What might be crippling for one is just another day for another, and that doesn't make anyone else worse or better. I'm personally a fan of kakashi because he didn't handle his pain all that well but he still continued trying anyways. Yeah his past was shit and so were a lot of other ppls but that doesn't make him great. The pain isn't what defined someone, it's how they handle. I personally feel that kakashi handled it in he most human way. Lots of ptsd guilt pain and horrible coping mechanisms. Personally i feel like itachi handled his shit too well for me to really see him as human. Kakashi is just so painfully human because of all his mistakes

Kate Seto I know that this may be way too late, but Itachi's way of handling it was too essentially commit suicide at the hands of Sasuke. Granted he was dying anyway, but he deliberately kept himself alive and suffering so that his younger brother could kill him and do what he felt he deserved. He didn't necessarily handle it all that well.

Well Itachi had the "Im doing for the greater good" feeling at least, a purpose to go on, itachi was a Konoha soldier to the end. He was THE ninja, protecting from the shadow. ok, he killed his clan, but his clan was trying to take power. So he still was just a guy doing the right thing. Kakashi, all the time he tried to save konoha, things just went to hell. Fight in the war, lost Obito. Try to save Rin, she dies. Try to forget about everything, ops, master and wife is dead. When things finally get better with team 7, orochimaru destroys the village and kill the last person who understood what kakashi has been trought( Sarutobi). Itachi had a chance to be a hero, by being a villain. He took it. No matter what he went trough he knew he was the hero. Kakashi was just a guy that got screwed, time and time again, wit no special jutsu(the one he created was a mess until he got the sharingan) no special family, with a dad that killed himself for doing the right thing. And no sense of doing the right thing to konoha. Remember most of his life kakashi did things just because. No sense of purpose, just a tool to be used. The problem is, while itachi knew he was a tool being well used. Kakashi was a broken knife trying to cut metal. Took most of his life to do something that he felt it was right for konoha, something that could really change the village for the best (training team 7). The purpose Itachi found as teenager as a ninja, kakashi only got when he began to train team 7. I think Itachi handle things pretty good considering it all, all he did was just he being the hero. and hero's are tragic. Itachi is a classic greek hero model. He knows he is the hero, he knows what he have to do, and he knows it will cost him everything. And he does it.

I choked up at the end of this one. The pain that Kakashi went through is vividly shown here. It really touched me. Thanks for making this amv.

Kakashi and itachi suffered and always hide their suffering, but itachi handled his problems too well to call him human Kakashi handled his problems in human way because he commited mistakes

I'm still annoyed that his friend's were saying that he should have gotten over it by now (when they were younger(actually they were older then I thought, but still)), and that Rin and Obito were their friends too. Kakashi didn't get over it because he was having horrible nightmares and would still see blood on his hands when he woke up, and having all sorts of other PTSD stuff. You can't compare actually being the one to kill a comrade, or even watch them die to people who weren't even there to see it and just heard about their deaths from someone else.I am glad though that they didn't completely give up on him.

I suppose not technically canon, but in the shippuden anime episode 360 Kurenai, Asuma, and Gai were talking about it, though also looking at it they were probably in their 24-25ish? years old at the time.

sadly the bullying I endured left me with something like PTSD and I've, well it wasn't worded like this, but I was told 'Grow the @%$* up and put it behind you.' Ironically I was told this by someone who claimed to work with war veterans and understood PTSD. I begged for real help for years but very little actually happened.

Kakashi and Obito had a very painful childhood, but each one chose different and opposite ways, it depends on with whom you share your time, you can remember the good things or the bad things of your life... Very good AMV!!! :)

I love him so much from the bottom of my heart. He is and will always be my hero.. He is so perfectly imperfect..It upsets me everytime that Kakashi thinks he's scum and doesn't deserve anything good - but he actually deserves everything and even more because he is such a strong, sweet, intelligent, badass, handsome, trustworthy and kind hearted person❤️ Without him, Naruto wouldn't be the same, I cried like a baby when he died in the fight with pain and has spoken to his dad, which was heart shattering.. I wonder how Kakashi never thought about suicide. He is so incredibly strong, though he seems utterly depressed some times.

These AMVs make me wanna cry 😢 so cinematic and inspiring this is a masterpiece! How great this feeling is. This makes me reminisce of a time I never had..

Seeing the sorrowful Kakashi breaks my heart, Naruto is the one anime that has the ability to make me cry by single scenes with just a small reminder of the pain and hardships for the character we hold dear. It was so well developed- and I think they should have ended it with Naruto instead of the continuation with Boruto. As if they can compare to the astonishing lives that made the world make sense ever since the beginning of Naruto. That had a plot developed from the first time we knew a strange boy had a dark chakara inside him. We all saw Naruto as a loser at first, admit it! It feels like so much more than a story, with the important details and personalities of each character. We watched the lives of Naruto change in it's complexities with all the dynamics, we saw detail after detail greatly impacting each character... Boruto is like it's scoffing at the classic where everything was about the Jinchuriki's, hatred, companionship, friendship, and bonds- yet his life seems to start off so much easier. Nothing can compare to the series that swept all our hearts since childhood.

theelamon1 Kakashi went through a similar thing. His dad 'betrayed' the village and people looked down at him because of that. And all of Kakashi's closest friends have died.....look at the poor guy the only old friends he had left 3rd Hokage and yamato have both died

Favourite character, favourite AMV. This is amazing!

I thought my life was bad, but compared to Kakashi's, I'm overreacting. Even though he's just a made up character, you can almost feel his pain and what he's been through. That is why Kakashi is one of my favorite characters, he suffered the pain, but never gave up or wanted revenge. Kakashi taught me that no matter what horrible things you go through, there will always be hope. I don't think I can endure all the pain he's been through.
