Decided to dip my toes with the RG353VS since I pretty much just want it for retro fighting games. I wish I would have seen your video before buying cause all the other videos I saw were talking about how android isn't good on this device. I guess this device for me will just be simple one for fighting games until I dive deep into the hobby.

Thanks for the review! Will you be doing a setup guide for this handheld as well? The setup guide you did for the Miyoo Mini Plus was so helpful, and I'd love to see something similar for this one. Also, curious if the two sticks can be used like Arcade games that use two sticks, like Crazy Climber and Karate Champ? That's the main reason why I may send back the Mini Plus for the 353V, I play mostly old arcade games, and I want to know if the sticks can function like in an arcade.

Thanks! I actually wasn't planning on it, just because of how long it's been out, not sure anyone would even want it? But you could follow similar steps to my RG353PS setup video - as they both use ArkOS, so it's an easy thing to follow most of that guide (changing out PS to V of course). That's a really good question. I don't see why you couldn't just map them to do so in RetroArch, if it wasn't already native in ArkOS etc. - if you want a full answer, jump into the Retro Handhelds Discord in my description and that RG353 channel, someone would have that answer for sure.

Thanks! How do you like the vertical form factor for a more powerful device compared to horizontal (RG405M)? I have RG35XX and Nintendo Switch, considering a more powerful SBC device, either RG353V, RG405M, or RP3+.

I definitely prefer horizontal over vertical. I found the RG353V to be especially cramped and hard to use the analog sticks, but the 405M ergonomics have been fantastic.

Can i just use the second sd card that came preloaded with roms from Anbernic on my computer and just add more roms in the correct areas without formatting? I'm running the stock os out of the box on my rg353v that i just received this week. I just want to add some more roms using the second SD card it comes with.

Does anyone know if the analog sticks work better on the Retroid pocket 3 plus. I bought this device Specifically to play jet grind radio and even the most basic tags struggle like I’m supposed to go up on the stick and it’s not recognizing the movement I have to do it like five times

Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity levels for the joysticks? On ocarina of time it’s really hard to use the bow/hook shot. Hell even navigate around tight bridges. Is there anyway to adjust this?

Launch Ocarina of Time, toggle to/open retroarch menu and head over to settings then open up 'Input'. Scroll down to Analog Sensitivity and lower down the number until satisfied. Save current configurations.

How do you exit the game. I keep having to re boot it. Also why is the game 1942 sideways?

They're extremely low quality and prone to failure. Also, the Roms that come on them have a multitude of issues, namely, lots of them can't save.

How well does it play conkers bad fur day?

Any word on the reviews for the daijisho front end tutorial? 👀 I suck at setting up that stuff for some reason

See. I just paid $150 US for a new one. Heard good things. Haven’t seen a better review. The charging block matters big time. Also, all ya really want is the power the system has. Bye bye folders and pre-installed anything. Roms etc. DL your own onto the cards and make a heck of a handheld. Much respect sir! 🤘🏻🎮🤘🏻

Neither for PSP. RP4 would be the cheapest.

No worries! Just install PPSSPP from the Play Store onto the Android side, throw your rom into a folder on the device, and point PPSSPP to it and it'll run out of the box. Hope that helps.

I'll say if you are willing to go Linux, actually their stock setup works really well with SA2. I get 30-60FPS with it but, crucially, no audio crackle which turns it from hot garbage to actually playable.

You can add any games you want.

Playstore does reduce performance however

im a android fan to i can't use any thing else I only use a iphone for checking resaling comps andropid pc master race :)

This is cool, but i definitely find the RG353P (exact same hardware) to be much better form wise. I do like the game boy shape for nostalgia, so i got a cheaper 35xx for playing Gameboy and Gameboy color on the go, and i use RG353P for everything else.

No clue, don't use the ROMs or SD cards that come with these devices are they're low quality and prone to issues.

No its a waste of money.

Why does mine keep fucking up when I try to save? It will say save state 0% and crash or if I play Pokémon heart gold it wont save at all and I’ve tried with multiple different roms

Thanks for the review. Whilst it looks good in general, there are definitely some caveats (which other reviewers tend to gloss over). Eg. those joysticks definitely look a bit cramped. A great review though.Thanks.

You can buy the extra SD card with games preloaded, but it's never recommended.
