Anatomy of my barrel evaporator

Спорт

This is NOT THE ONLY WAY to build a 55 gallon drum evaporator but its how I did it and the exterior seems to run pretty cool.

an excellent video, very helpful. I do not have electrical service where I am going to use my evaporator, so no possibility of a blower. Do you think I will be able to function well without the blower. THANKS

Thank you for sharing! Looking at making upgrades to my barrel system. My evaporator runs at about 3-5 gallons an hour and it’s only lined with firebrick. What would you say your evaporation rate is with this system?

Isn't the 6" exhaust flange curved to fit the top of the barrel. How did you mount it flush with the flat back of the barrel? Or did the back just curve a little as you tightened the bolts?

Do you have a list of materials? How much sand did you buy and what size pavers?

ITs a low cost way to change the height to set the best spacing for the flames that travel under the pan as the flames work their way towards the stove pipe outlet.

@@innovativeoutdoorsman5067 curious… would not having a vertical and taller smoke pipe induce better draft and thereby let it burn hotter without forcing cold air into the arch? My various friends and family that sugar with woodfired arches get glowing red firebox doors with natural draft… blowing air in might fire the wood off faster but since to goal is putting heat to the pans (not burning wood) and the gasses from the wood are what burns the hottest I’m not convinced the fan is beneficial.
