His own advice if you are starting to invest is buy Nifty50 and Gold(upto 400 gms). Say you have 20k to invest, you will then invest 10k in Nifty50 and 10K in gold. This is the start.

You are advising against buying homes. Rationally and financially thats right. But the reality is living in a rented house is difficult. Personally, my family has been living in rented houses for more than 25 years. We would have switched to 15+ rented houses in those years. It has been a traumatic experience I must say. Every house has some or the other problems like water scarcity, landlord issues, neighbour issues, landlord discrimination, the walls in the houses forming mold, random increase in rent, unreasonable rent for poor living conditions, some landlords even charge extra money for every unit of power consumption, the list goes on. Many would have gone through such situation in our country. Sometimes we are even tired of switching or searching for another rented home. Thats why we dream of having our own home where we can have our own freedom and peace of mind.
