I randomly stumbled onto this channel when scrolling through my youtube feed. It was the guide to how to look like a classic character. I've played Roblox ever since 2011, and I was kind of curious on your takes of character customization one should follow to be considered "Classic." However, I never really liked the Roblox youtube scene. Everyone is so lazy with their content, and they just pump out videos kids want to see. I was a bit afraid of the quality of your videos, but I still decided to play it out. And, oh my god, I was very wrong to assume so quickly. I love how much time you put into your video essays, and your voice flows nicely and almost never breaks out unless there is a post-editing comment that needs to be fulfilled. (which seems to happen a lot) I even fact checked a lot of the info you use in your video, and it's clear you put so much time researching everything you talk about. I love this damn channel so much. You earned a sub. Keep posting amazing content, and you'll blow up soon. Trust me. Enjoy your day my man. :D

3:58: Fun fact: it turns out the "ROBLOX" decal that used to be applied is technically still on the avatar, but the decal's source attribute was blanked out, so it doesn't appear. Not sure why they did this as opposed to just deleting the decal item from the base avatar model, maybe it would break something? I dunno. Also, considering that the default avatar is R6, if they were to remove R6, pulling off the glitch might revert your avatar to R6 even after the removal, because the model for it is buried pretty deep into Roblox's internal structure code-wise. Also, at 5:37: I thought I was the only one who noticed this!

@@LanguageBLOX1_Alt Not sure. The attribute was completely blanked out, so I dunno if it would be possible to add it back. You might be able to do it with scripts or by modifying the StarterPlayer in some way to change the default decal.

Kind of disappointed you didn’t go more in depth with Rthro like you did with 3.0. Specifically before the first Rthro packages were added, AKA the “Anthro”. The oof sound effect wasn’t taken down because the owner of it “got mad” The owner just asked for $10,000 to be paid to him for Roblox to keep the rights to own the sound effect. Instead of paying a minuscule 10K out of their multibillion dollars, they decided “actually, no, screw you” and didn’t pay him at all and got away with it by forcing a change of the death sound effect on its platform.

Neat bit of trivia: The Pal (bacon) hair used to cost 90 robux, but you got it for free upon account creation if you selected male gender, despite the chestnut hair being free... I guess someone realized this and changed them both to free items in ~2020, interesting enough I figured I should mention it.

roblox was my equivalent to club penguin/moviestarplanet/minecraft etc! it's been crazy to see the shift from people desperately trying to join a game with builderman, telamon/shedletsky, or even the ROBLOX account, to people not even really knowing the mods. wild stuff.

I’ve been on Roblox since 2013 but had been playing before as guest accounts and man, it’s def a trip to see all of these older memes. Also makes me feel hella old despite me only being 21 lmao

I started my first account in 2016 maybe even 2015 and these memes are bringing back memories. I remember when I first played as a guest and like you said it became an icon when playing as a guest was an option.

for a 6th grade "meme" art project (i miss that teacher she was cool) i redid the despacito spider screenshot using colored pencils on a canvas. i got a flat A because she said it was copied wonderfully but she didnt understand why it was a meme. i still have the thing in my closet somewhere im gonna go find it and hang it on my wall

I discovered your channel a few days ago, you deserve way more than 4k. I find old roblox incredibly interesting so I love this style of content.

This guy is so underrated I randomly found this channel by watching random roblox videos. I do not understand how you don't have at least 100k subscribers, you will 100% become very popular every video is actually interesting. You put so much work in your videos unlike other youtubers that are so lazy and don't even try research. I really like your content and how much work you put in every video.

I watched this start to finish, always being intrigued and entertained. What a production man hats off to you! This video also brought back so much nostalgia 😢

Keep going with these original video concepts, they're very entertaining! There are a lot of subjects that are still undiscussed for the most part when it comes to roblox, so it'd be nice to see someone be there to talk about the obscure.

Bro you really deserve more subs. I love these youtubers who teach and archive the history of ROBLOX, since ROBLOX itself wants to wipe the memories of the charming and colorful platform ROBLOX used to be. We, Robloxians need more of these youtubers like toastedcherries and Nitrolord.

I joined on 09, I vividly remember the transition to newer models. I remember when they were rolling out robloxian 2.0 and when they were testing out packages. they had like a test package which was literally just the bear feet/claws.

The only exception to how quickly roblox players accept new features is rthro. I’m pretty sure everyone still wants those thrown out a 10 story building window. Also I have like half the stuff required for a salad hair avatar I might actually make one. (Never have actually used one but seeing people recognize it might be fun) Really just for irony, that’s all.

the OOF sound removal is so important to me honestly, it was so fun, also the bighead memes lol, i remember desesperately buying the bighead hat in 2018 before it went offsale

My favorite meme you talked about today was The “Noob”. You explained everything we wanted to know about the character and why it got popularity. If you own the Noob avatar you’re basically respected because Noob was the ancestor of all of the Roblox people. He was the OG but he was claimed to not be good at anything and was a beginner. It’s cool to be a Roblox Noob. Also guys don’t bully Noobs they’ll destroy you in games just like Bacons. Also it’s a rare chance you will ever get a Noob avatar due to your avatar failing to load. You can simply pay for the noob outfits now with 5 robux. So if your a noob, your technically not poor your only out to troll. Which is what noobs do.

Of course! Old Roblox sounds that you'd hear all the time are awesome I remember when all Roblox games felt connected. The contents of the individual Roblox game could be different from another, and yet they have such a similar vibe. Same blocky visuals, many sound effects that you'll hear from game to game. Nowadays it seems like Roblox is _just_ a game platform. Even though it always was a game platform, the continuity from game to game made it all "Roblox". But games (or "experiences" as they're called now) can be so immersive and different from each other and Roblox now, being much more independent. It might be a good thing for developers, but I still miss Roblox games all having that Roblox vibe + their own too.

Things you forgot to mention about gurt: His chapter was actually playable if you did a really specific set of things + he reappeared in the 2022 piggy april fools as the skin for piggy (The cutscenes at the start and end of house chapter 1 recieved some dialogue changes aswell).

As for video idea! I think you could do video about roblox advertisement , recommendation or any other algorithms like why some developers sponsor games with zero online teleporters that teleports you to main place.

And it should be known that he didn't force (or want) Roblox to take it off. Instead, he fairly asked for an a sum of money, but Roblox (20B company) removed the sound, instead.

i don't mean to have this comparison undermine this channel's efforts, but this channel is the R.R. Slugger of roblox content. A man who has the skills to produce the highest quality videos with loads of offort put into reseach, editing, animating background footage -- to end up with the most weirdly dissonant combonation: a documentary-quality film oozing with well-planned style and vibes, but made about what is essentially a glorified kid's product that older folks can enjoy.

Nowadays, you'll find there are a lot more popular Roblox games that cater towards teens than before. It also really doesn't matter what a channel is about. If the storytelling and info presentation is good enough, you can get invested in almost anything.

Surprising that this is so well researched considering it is a meme video.

10:08 At some points my friends and i came up with ways to make fake branded clothing, where we would upload JPGs of notable brands like Nike and Adidas and wear black clothing and put the t-shirt on making us look like we had cool clothes as during the period Adidas and nike clothes where really popular so we wanted to fit in at the time.

What i appreciate the most about the oof explanation is that you didn't give Tami the Trolly Car any sort of additional exposure. It shows that you've actually watched the video. I'm also kinda glad that the 3.0 phase has passed for the most part since it means that we're all able to just look back on it and enjoy it ironically. 3.0 male nowadays is basically just the Roblox version of the Gigachad Meme, it aged well. As for RTHRO, it just feels like Roblox wants a piece of the Fortnite cake. Its meant to appeal to roleplayers and people who play other F2P games like Fortnite or VRChat who are turned off by the blocky aesthetic. And i mean: I don't entirely hate it. I'm all for giving people choices in how to design their characters, though as a 2008 player, the loss of the Roblox aesthetic is one of the hardest things about these sorts of changes. Its like my childhood is being erased to some degree. I'm just glad I don't really play Roblox anymore. I stopped having fun on that site by around 2017 and was getting fed up with the updates as far back as when Roblox changed the character animations and broke the gears in every old game that still wasn't being updated. Seeing what this barely functioning site has mutated into (this pay to win, gambling enabling mess) really sucks, and I miss when groups had actual importance on the site. I'm sorry, but the RP/Clan era of Roblox was easily this site at its best. Most of my closest friends nowadays were people I met on Roblox as a kid during that period of time between 2009 and 2015. Smaller games back then had an actual sense of community: they were tightly knit and while they had their own drama, they were also genuine experiences. They weren't just these money farming tycoon games made to bait children to pay for game passes. Nowadays, Roblox is just free to play Steam, which isn't awful (there's a lot of well designed games nowadays), but its quite a ways away from the more personal, early-internet social media experience it used to be. THATS why people played old Roblox, it was because of the community. The stuff you did on the site back then felt like it mattered. I also don't need to be pissing away any more money than i currently do playing Yugioh, so that's probably another reason why i won't get back into the game today.

i remember in My early roblox years of late 2009 to early 2010 "noob traps" were a thing. which were basically free models that promised Free Tix and then proceeded to kill your avatar or whatever there was a particularly nasty one that would trap you in a box and get rid of your entire inventory, which 99% of the time would take away your ability to reset (roblox didn't have a dedicated reset button at the time so it was common practice for games to put a tool in your inventory that would just kill you if you clicked) so you were just stuck there until you left the game

Fun fact! Gurt (during the easter event) Normally stays around the area in divina park, if I remember it correctly he stays around easteer eggs and some hay.

25:45 .Do you know Gurt appeared in a game called Tower Heroes, he is a boss that you can fight in one of the weekly quest of the Easter event, you can even be Gurt himself and also him following you.

I've been on the platform since mid 2012, and I remember so many of these. I've been going on a bit of a nostalgia trip these last couple days and indulging myself in looking at a lot of the older stuff, as well as trying to find my old account from when I first joined. I can ALSO confidently say that I was a very avid partaker of the guest meme, even when it guests were actually still around. Also a meme that you missed was the commemoration of Tix, the old free currency that you would get 10 of every day/week, but could be transferred into robux. The concept was removed back in 2016, and the death of it was widely commemorated across the site for around a year. I still see games and avatars using tix as a concept to this day even.
