Well done! I’m impressed you isolated this beautiful suite of songs that even many Bowie fans don’t regard as significant. At 10 years old, with my crappy 8-track player, this album (cassette) still transported me like nothing I’d ever heard - at least not until Low. Both albums got me thinking & feeling differently, and more deeply.

The most amazing thing that is overlooked is the incredible guitar work on this album. Great guitar solo on this one. One of my favorite Bowie songs really.

Another fantastic analysis. Thank you. There was a list of Bowie's greatest songs in MOJO magazine ten or twenty years ago. Sweet Thing/Candidate came in at number ten, so it's not overlooked by everybody!

I was waiting until this video to comment this, as this is one of my favorites. I really love what you’re doing here, I binged this series a while ago and it’s really laid bare why Bowie has always been my favorite artist. There are so many levels to what he did and I love that you’ve highlighted one of his most central themes so thoroughly! I’ve learned a lot from your series I almost never comment on videos, but I just had to in this case. Thank you so much for doing this! Please keep it up!
