In Nigeria Corruption is only a punchable offence to the poor and not to the politicians

Corruption is a mindset. You can't completely put it to an end. The structuring of any society starts with the adolescents by cultivating morality in children from childhood through parents and educators which involves leading by example, teaching empathy, kindness, & responsibility, providing moral guidance & explanations, encouraging critical thinking & decision-making skills, and fostering a supportive and ethical environment. Parents and educators play crucial roles in modeling and reinforcing positive moral values through consistent communication and positive reinforcement. Eu countries like Sweden, Norway, Finland, Germany etc start shaping the mindset or mentality of their kids from early childhood education. Every kid sees each other as equals no kid is better than the other. Nigerians have to stop this self sufficient, individualistic, me & my family, classicism approach...

Unfortunately there is another sophisticated type of Corruption now in our society that is common in the US and which they have changed into a nice word- "Lobbying"

Its still politicians making money from politics. They take money to enact laws to favor the lobbyists

Who placed the corruption tag on nigeria???? Nigeria deliberately and comprehensively placed the corruption tag on herself.

You cannot reduce, fight or eradicate corruption when you have the country being led by persons with proving and unpunished criminality.

Our Lawyers and the Judiciary are the roots of our problems. Nigeria has enough laws, but their riches comes mainly from circumventing the same law to be uphold. The lawyers helped the law makers to create loopholes and technical traps that creates opportunities for back payment and lawlessness. If lawyers will rise to start standing up to the ones that breaks the laws, including the government, it will reduced the incentives that people enjoyed just by breaking laws with impunity.

The politicians are the main reason why corruption is legal in Nigeria, followed by the judiciary system.

OGA boy, OGA boy will always hold the hands of Nigeria. Corruption can stop in Nigeria only when first the president is not OGA boy and second the practice of discipline start from him.

Corruption cost the country more than $550bn. That's a GROSS underestimate. Nigeria would easily be a $10tn economy but for Corruption and disrespect for Law and Order. Factor in the results of having Infrastructure when the costs were not prohibitive e.g. Electricity, train systems, steel, manufacturing etc. for a Creative people. Extrapolate the advances we have in Music and films and imagine what would happen if we had the enabling technology. The world would have heard wen! What a shame!

I really appreciate your analysis. You got to the bottom of it. First place to start is hourly rate. The police are able to make extra money by doing security on their time off after 8 hours of daily work to supplement their wages. So all these rich that need police escorts will have to pay for it through the station pay roll and they only get paid for the hour they work.

Sentence few to 30yrs in prison, everyone else would sit up, no accountability in nigeria, undisciplined nation. The ex -minister of humanitarian affairs should be in prison now, I bet she is not

One way to reduce corruption is automate as much as u can. For e.g EFCC should nott meant to receive money. Government accounts for salary shid have direct debits for staffs who clock in over the months. Pensions the same. Technology has a long way to be utilized in nigeria. Second is culture/heritage (nigeria doesnt reward merit. The shud start rewarding merit and see what happens. What ever you reward thats were people pitch their tent). E.g those days at nsukka were u can leave your bag walk about and still lovate it were you left it. Third, the should give minimal access and reduce downsizing (when 1 person covers a wide range). Fourth, edication most people at position are uneducated ( the have degrees but do not know what yhe degree imply in it micro form)

When the take home of people cannot take them home, People will look for other means to get home. Are those other means right or wrong? The corruption does not start from the other means, The corruption started from what or who decides the take home of people.

Until we nigerians Clearly defined corruption and implement a strong deterrence policy, corruption will consume the country and in turn destroy the likelihood of foreign investors considering Nigeria as an Ideal location for doing business in any capacity.

What a corruptive description of the Nigerians corruption. Do you think the Nigerians corruption is a tag? If you think so, that’s a corrupt mindset. The Nigerians corruption is REAL, it’s not a tag. What happens to the image when you remove the tag? Corruption is not about removing the surface tag, it must be dealt with and uprooted by Nigerians themselves.
