    Sunderdeep, you've tried your best to say good things about VW/Skoda's rejig of their line up something that's quite unlikely to get major incremental numbers. I also saw your conversation with Ashish Gupta, and the guy came across as someone who is fighting a losing battle. VW's decision to launch this so-called GT Line is laughable at best. Out here GT moniker is used with only top of the line grand tourers but in India manufacters have shown their lazy attitude of throwing these monikers around when they are unable to do some serious work on their ageing line up. As they say, you can apply lipstick to a pig but can't make them look good. It's disheartening to see VW India throwing in the towel long before the fight is over. If their contemporaries can ace their India strategy with such finnase, it's unpardonable that VW with their deep pockets can only come up with this apology of a strategy.

    Well put. Absolutely unfathomable with their actions in the 2.0 project. They seem to be least bit ambitious to do anything serious to gain the market share. The same thing happened with Polo before it got discontinued. Offering different editions with cosmetic changes when the customers are screaming that they want a higher top variant with all features that the competition had back then. Instead they royally ignored that feedback from genuine customers. Same thing they are repeating now with their dumb strategy of ignoring a sub 4m SUV for India and also for not matching Taigun's road presence with competition. Car is as much an emotional purchase as it is a practical utilitarian purchase. But VW doesn't give a f.

    We need to drastically remove Ashish Gupta from India VW Group, He needs to understand very very simple need of market and what customer wants from VW Group, Although he says 400 comments and ask is for Polo or else under 10 to 12 Lkh in between but Still he doesn't understand the customer requirements and talking bullshit Brand making, VW is already a big brand way long back, what he will do for brand building, Just focus on actual needs that's his job.

    Portfolio of low end cars is v.v important in Indian market which VW doesn’t want to Understand. Snobbery wont get them anywhere. Sorry its the truth.

    Good video Paaji. VAG is having too much of a laid back approach towards the Indian market. Wonder what is making them keep themselves so restricted towards certain segments and price brackets. Like why don't you launch your cars at PREMIUM prices but cater to the needs of a Indian customer like some modern bells and whistles? They seriously need to have better distribution of the varients with added features and launch a hatchback with their PREMIUM price to have better penetrability in our markets. Despite of having the calibre to succeed in our market their major interest seems to be just exports and making some kind of side by side money from our market while they focus on exports. With Hyundai catching up on VAG's USPs, they should better level up their game.

    Paaji.... Would say it's the effect of Creata facelifts, N-line, Seltos facelift & Honda Elevate 1.5 iVtec with great pricing. Its a shame for VW-Skoda as they are forced to follow & offer little extra against Korean Twins & Elevate offerings. High time they offer equivalent Priced models with almost same feature lists for Indians to buy & experience German Engineered technologies. Unless they buy & experience their Sales nos. will not increase.

    I was expecting a better product launch. Its was disappointing. Expected at-least :: ADAS, 360 degree camera, front sensor. I have been waiting for this new update. But unfortunately this has forced me to go to some other brand. Just HATE VW GROUP with their strategy.

    Didn't volkswagen already say, skoda will lead Indian market and operations... VW no longer runs India operations and eve call though VW owns skoda, Skoda runs India operations and VW operates under them in India... VW will use skoda's platform... So this knew platform VW is using is basically built for skoda.. VW taigun and VW virtus are variants of skoda not the other way around... That's the reason skoda is bringing 4m car but vw has opted not to... Skoda wants numbers and VW is just in India to maintain presence... That's it..

    Correctly said, sale will drop drastically as most of vento, polo, rapid customer have already bought Taigun, slavia, kushaq and Virtus, the remaining 98% general customer will not going to buy without bells and whistles and solid interior.

    Sales will drop drastically? It has already gone south with a lot of momentum. Both Skoda and VW combined selling less than 5K units in a month. When ford left India they were selling around 8-10k per month. If this trend continues than people will be skeptical putting their hard earned money on a brand(s) whose future is uncertain. Less sales will force service centre to keep less spare which affect those who already own, in the future resale will also take a dent. Skoda-VW future looks bleak!

    You took words from my mouth, you’ve put it perfectly. So disappointed with the way VW is going about the whole business in India. Ford must be laughing that they closed shops when they were selling more than double the vehicle what VW is doing. I have booked VW Virtus 2 months and I was told by the owner of the local VW dealership(being a class mate) that book the vehicle but wait for a while as VW will soon launch an updated models of both Taigun & Virtus. What we got as an update that senseless Taigun touring and now this two with some hopeless cosmetic changes. Even the rear view camera on the current one is a joke. Below average AC performance, built along with fit and finish is no where close to VW standards with those zillions of rattles and creaks. I am losing faith in VW India and I fear the way they are going, in a year or two they’ll have to pack their bags and leave.

    ​@Aniruddhm too bad you got a defected car visit your showroom from where you bought the car. Lot of my friends own the 1.0 tsi and I own a 1.5 tsi virtus gt never had any ac issues at all. If you complain about the rattle they will replace the whole panel for that too for free.

    @@luvpratapsingh2083 lol defective? No offence but you are talking rubbish. Many of my friends too using both VW & Skoda and they are facing the same problem. AC works fine, not great but not bad either on 1.5 but there is some serious problem with the 1.0 TSI AC. Yes they do a great job every 6 months when I have to leave the vehicle for couple of days to fix all the rattle. But that is not how it should be. When you pay that much amount of money one should not have to go through this every few months.

    @Aniruddhm I have 1st generation polo MPI scross virtus Gt. Best ac is of virtus even the older mpi cant match the performance I live prayagraj it's 43 degrees already here in June it touches 50.. don't preach me about ac working my friends own kia seltos creta they got their cooling coil compressor replaced within 3 years. Suzuki also has the below average ac as I own scross I know. Mahindra and tata have good ac but still can't match the level of vw. So your car is defected because my friend has a slavia 1.0 tsi AT no issues since the past 1.5 years some cars had the issue but after the update no issues so if you still having issues visit your service centre or write a mail to skoda india. If you are fedup with your car let me know I know people who would pay good money.

    Sir, India needs Polo, Virtus, Taigun,Tiguan, Troc or Atlas all in petrol and diesel and hybrid , this will be the game changer, with only 3 variant each and 5 star safety, airbag, abs ebd ba as standard, good ac , 4 power windows with one touch up down, uv cut glasses, 7 years paint and anti rust warranty, and improved quality of interior this will change the game forever but Ashish ji is in no mood to listen to vw owners or vw fans ! Premium is a buzz word now VW means peoples car but ashish is in mood to make it premium brand only he can answer thr meaning of premium and vw 2.0

    Even I was expecting at-least few more features they could have add here, as Sunder told like 360 camera, ADAS etc was missing. Even there rear camera is below average. They need to think bit ahead as per the user demand.

    Good discussion as always. I'm really looking to buy Virtus 1.5 GT (not GT plus). Only missing thing is 6 airbags. I hope at least entire GT line up gets 6 airbags, if not all.

    Excellent analysis!! Also no one talks about dash cam that they are providing in accessories is not state of art dash cam and warranty void aspect if you install it by own. It would be great if you can point out as VW seems to listen to you :)

    sunderdeep Sir should we install aftermarket LED headlights in my polo 2021 model as i feel less light on road where no street lights i wanted running indicator for headlights along with LED & tail light Will that create problem in insurance claim in future

    19:28 i think a simple answer to that is, us time larger audience ke income level us according nahi the ki VW ke major portfolio ke budget ko consider kar sake( models except polo& vento) Plus at those times mass mentality was, practicality of cars than car enthusiasts Ratio was not enough in India to sell in sufficient numbers for those lineups to sustain. Aaj income levels are better, lower end cars have " good to have features" cz of hyundai group and enthusiasm for cars is increasing in India due to many reasons. Till date. Anyone with those price brackets would think. Thode aur paise daalke badi gaadi le lu( either badi in size or brandname) Kodiaq suggest karo. General mindset would be , better i take a german luxury brand( for a better brand name) Or he will say me fortuner or ford lelu. Bhaukaa dikhega isntead of a compass or skoda

    Awesome analysis as usual Paaji. Rightly said sub 4 meter space is empty. If VW is not launching a sub 4 suv as Skoda. They could atleast bring a premium hatchback or a notchback. Yes they should have given 360 degree camera. Hopefully they will add more features with Face-lift which is due next year.💯🤘🏻

I am proud owner of 1.5 ltr tsi mannual purchased in 2023 and wanted to add new features now available with Škoda such as electrical seat, dash cam, 360 degree camera, is it possible to get it customised from agency properly.

    Inko to family ke hisab se 10 lakh ke niche 1 lit ya 1.2 lit me 4 cylinder Naturally aspirated engine dena chahiye ...turbo engine to bhagane ke liye hai...wo to thik hai...lakin ek engine option hona chahiye Naturally aspirated jaise ki maruti and hyundai ke paas hai...4 cylinder and three cylinder wala

    Bhai premium section mein bhi kahan shi product hai inke. Tiguan R line, VW Arteon ye sab laao bahut se rich customer milenge. Target value luxury segment i.e 30-40 lakhs range.

    Premium is on higher side for 1.5 when compared 1.0. it’s time that VW invest in 1.5 local manufacturing. Moreover, it would provide an engine option for future higher end model like 2024 VW Tiguan or skoda octavia. As in international market they are giving 1.5 with battery pack as one of their engine option.

    The GT variant is a great add on to their portfolio. However not something that will provide exponential sales. The best strategy for VW was to launch a sub 4 metre car with 1.0 Engine which many customers still prefer for city driving. They could keep the 1.5 reserved for Taigun with a bigger size or better features. However now if they bring something in sub 4 metre segment it will definitely impact the sales of Taigun 1.0. They offered us good products but not a great portfolio.

    What is the price before and after discount? I booked Kushaq 1.0 ambition AT with 2.19 lac discount.. ex showroom 13.30 after discount before it was 15.49. I wonder if it is a good deal

    veerji u r telling hard truth but driving dynamics is unmatched . i have taigun previously i own skoda octavia farenhite . i buy taigun i really not required even rare camera . i love driving dynamics suspension d power & safety is totally unmatched . i love vw & skoda ❤🙏🙏 veerji gear / 4 power window/ Ac or built quality required if u love ur family go for germans otherwise if u require features go for kia/ hyundai

    Hello Sir, I recently took test drive of Virtus 1.5dsg 2023 old model. Only big issue I want to clarify is the AC was not satisfactory at all even after 15-20 mins, it was working on Lo and full fan-1, outside temperature was 38 degree. It was creating lot of noise as it was on full speed -1. I asked the guy but he said its normal. I understand its a german car n all, but is it still common thing for all these cars ?

    I am also a vw lover and also owner of vw Vento highline diesel also I own a xuv300 w8 ...but frankly speaking VW Taigun or Skoda Kushaq doesn't look that great , presence is small and doesn't feel like a big car which costs 20 lac + , people are hesitant to take those ...sedans are looking good though vitus and slavia are good looking cars ...but India is a suv loving country now ..issue is this

    Sunderdeep ji, I own Polo and l live in Siliguri, WB. Though it's an important city of WB, there is no service centre of VW. Every year I need to drive nearly 1000 km for getting my car serviced. Do you have any idea why VW doesn't care about this. I write every year a mail to VW at the time of service and receive the like replies, but not a solution.

    Wow, I think I buy Astor then. Was waiting for ADAS on VW/Skoda since September and had high anticipation that it will be in March 2024(almost seemed logical given the landscape + the fact that Virtus sold outside India has few features already). Mostly going for Astor in that case

    I agree. 15 days ago I took test drive of Taigun and Xuv700 AX5. I don’t think I will even think of Taigun after driving XUV 700. In terms of feel to drive XUV700 is better as we get superb steering with commanding sitting position and many features plus comfortable seat which VW doesn’t offer.

    @@SunderdeepSingh I am comparing GT with AX5. In Delhi they are not even giving even 50k discount. They are not serious in sales, their entire showroom is empty, not even single customer was there when I went to take test drive. Scorpio N select AT Petrol seems better value for money. Tiguan is close to 40 lakh , even lookwise also its too small. Thar 5 door would be a better car in 20-25 segment.

    Sunderdeep ji, aside from this topic, I am a VW/ Skoda user for last 10 years and have owned 4 VAG cars including Jetta 2.0 TDI in the past. I believe that 1.5TSI DSG is over hyped and 1.0TSI AT is underrated. I have driven both versions back to back a number of times and everytime I feel that 1.0 AT is better than 1.5DSG specifically in the city limits. I know some people might not believe this by looking at the spec sheets of both versions. Or it could be that DSG DQ 200 to be blamed. What are ur thoughts. Is it possible to speak to you somehow?

    Watching the video at 1.25x speed, it will make the video seem shorter and you'll be more likely to watch it all the way through. The normal speed video feels a bit like slow motion. (By the way, I watch every one of your videos. I own a Taigun GT myself.)

    Taigun base variant doesn't looks like base variant from exterior , it looks so stunning in real world. It looks much better than kushaq base variant for sure, I was blown away today paji when i saw it while it was taking a u turn slowly from a divider by thinking why the people are not buying instead they are buying other sub 4m crap for 15-16 lakhs.

    Hi brother, I need some advice. I bought a Virtus 1L manual highline, a month back and had to drive it from Jaipur to Pune just 2 days after buying. The car is running smooth but the engine produces a very rough whenever not in a ideal RPM range. Whenever the RPM drops to 1000 and you press something like half accelerator, the rough noise comes until you leave accelerator and press again in the ideal RPM (1500-2000) range. Could there be a fault in my car or is it common in all cars. Please reply.

    ​@@peeyushsethi9953 you are lugging the engine. It increases wear and tear of engine .Thats why its vibrating and making noise. Downshift when the rpm goes below 1000 rpm. Don't go below 1000 rpm , stay in b/w 1200-1800 rpm range while driving .

    Competition is good. This applies to every commodity. Whether you buy aata from market or house or car. But the things we need to keep in mind while choosing for our own is what return on investment we are getting through it. Aashirwaad in Bangalore would cost 350 ish from supermarket stores like More. But also in lesser price I also get Pillsburry multi-grain aata. Which one should I take? Aashirwaad has been house hold name across India, but Pilsburry wants to tap into this market as well and gives a better value of money product (well I am not a scientist on food) to buy Indian consumers. Apthough, Aashirwaad is synonymous to aata, still people might want to try Pillsbury. In that way, Aashirwaad won't say that they want to cater premium segment of the market only. It's the brand value that they are selling vs Pillsbury who wants to capture based on pricing. In this market of Hyundai, Maruti, Tata, Mahindra, VW should start playing a bit like Pillsbury's game rather than playing like organic aata brand which rarely anyone buys. Whosoever buys gets the response " Ameero k chochle". I am not at all a fan of any brand, I won Hyundai, but looking at the competition even if I want to get a car of great driving dynamics, looking at ROI I may drop VM/Skoda and get something else (not hyundai/Kia for sure) .

    if they can change the name from Golf to Polo, why cant they design Polo for India on Virtus Platform? some customer like HatchBack rather then Sedan. They could have 3 types of cars on same platforms Sedan, Mid Size SUV, HatchBack (Virtus, Taigun, Polo). 13 lakh Polo fine why not. Nexon is also HatchBack only right, customer paying 13lakh+ for that as well. Honda City HatchBack, Skoda Superb HatchBack they already come in international market. If they dont wanna release 4meter HatchBack fine. Design Polo on Virtus/Taigun Platform, customer will buy it.

    That's a misconception, gap is getting narrowed. I test drove seltos and put comparison in case of driving dynamics/driving feel seltos score less by a narrow margin but compensated well with great interior , superb look, size, feel and features they are offering. Just waiting for a good safety rating at least like Verna and it's going to be a done deal.

    Dear Sunderdeep, i have owned a Polo Gt 1.6 Tdi for 10 years and i sold it last year after driving it for almost around 1 lakh kms. I currently own a Slavia 1.5 Dsg, a Thar 4 by 4 diesel automatic and a nexon ev which i bought 2 weeks back. Trust me bro VW is really lacking way behind in terms of the quality it used to provide back in those days. I have been a VW fanboy but the moment i drive my Nexon ev i forget driving my slavia cuz the nexon ev is way ahead in terms of driving quality. The fact is Volkswagen has taken Indian market very lightly and this is going to result in its downfall.

    This is hilarious. VW is a mass market car maker in every country they are in worldwide. Just check out their pricing strategy in China. They have a lot of customised cars as per the customer demand there and they are well priced too. A sub 4m platform for India with the right level of localisation can allow them to price it competitively, it is not impossible. And also Taigun should have bigger size and updated features list to stay competitive. Nobody is saying they should just reduce their price. Instead, they should also have a solid presence in the sub 4m segment which can allow them to launch new generation Polo for India with a new MQB platform and also a sub 4m SUV to compete with Nexon and the likes. This is what a good mass market brand should do to succeed in India. Taigun and Kushaq can stay expensive but should have a bigger road presence and all the latest features, updated yearly for them to sustain the sales figures.

    Personally it is not exciting; these versions should have instead launched in the first phase itself with the launch of GT models which as per name the aesthetics now match. Every time they say India is an imp market, that doesn't not translate toward the efforts and excitement thrown in the product. Globally they are probably sometime first or second manufacturers in the list competing with Toyota in terms of volume; which makes me think that they can aggressively approach Indian market with better portfolio. However, this year simple things could have have been added: 1. better camera 2. front rear sensors 3. inbuilt dash cam 4. Anti pinch and 4 downs auto roll down 5. Tinted UV glass for better ac effectiveness 6. Better headlight throw 7. Better carpet boot lining 8. Hood Insulators as standard 10. Lastly if possible some branded collaboration may be with Beats Audio for speaker system

    @@SunderdeepSingh sunderdeep ji you along with us (the community) on repeated mode pe itni baar ye boldia and everytime with the same amount of enthusiasm for the love of products they are capable of and now when they are not syncing in with the our inputs it feels disheartening.. from your video you were also not much happy, it was felt and yes most of us sleep by this thought expecting ki ab ye change aa sakta hai.. because they can do it. Its not much of a task for this size of brand. And this is exactly the point when most people will hold back the connect from the brand...and moreover if tomorrow the hybrid policy kicks in well, city hybrid will again takeover the segment with only just one minus point of boot space because many till date many dont really much care of what 1.5 evo turbo is vs 1.5 NA hybrid.
