It depends on structural element and exposure conditions, for beam you can assume between 20 to 50mm

Sir, while calculating effective depth why didn't you subtracted half of the bars from total depth as you have just subtracted effective cover? I saw people subtracting half of the bars like In this example, d(eff) = 700-25-(28÷2) -(25÷2) Why did you just subtracted d' from D why not half bars? I'm so confused Tomarrow is my exam sir pls reply faster😩
