Any blade requires care. And no matter what steel you use, be it simple stainless steel or high-carbon powder steel, no knife can reach its full potential unless it is sharpened correctly.
The cutting tool is sharpened using abrasives. Often these are artificial or natural bars of various shapes and sizes. The main difference between sharpening stones is their grain size or grit. The larger the grit, the faster the stone works. Such stones are used for the initial sharpening of a knife, removing large chips on the cutting edge or shaping it. Stones with small and low grit are used for straightening and finishing the cutting edge
