Just so you’re not left with questions here Tami…the name “anabar” is essentially a combination of the word “anabolic” meaning “tissue building” or “muscle building”, and the word “bar”
Thank you for your review! I wish protein bar companies had variety packs, but most of them don't 😢 Anabar doesn't either, so you're stuck buying individuals or entire boxes of one flavor. They also aren't much cheaper if you buy the whole box of 12. You save $0.50 per bar, but they still end up being $3.00 each for a small snack 🫣

That's way too expensive.
These don't seem bad for protein bars, but honestly the name puts me off a bit. I know it means "anabolic" but my brain thinks otherwise. It reminds me of how "ThinkThin" was problematic, and because of that they just go by "Think" now.

I’m just an average human being… I’m not an endurance athlete or weight lifter… I’m not vegetarian either… I eat a balanced diet with adequate protein so these are not something I’d be willing to spend a lot of money on…I think a lot of people think that if something has added protein it’s a lot healthier… sadly that’s not always true… what your body doesn’t use as fuel gets stored as excess weight… not muscle necessarily… a single Reese’s cup is about 100 calories and may be more satisfying if that’s what you’re actually craving… I do have a degree in biology and have a background in nutrition… I do like that they are advertising these as protein candy bars because there is a lot of sugar in them as well… I think the “kind” bars are are a great option for most average humans looking for a tasty healthier snack option… great review!!!!

I agree. I think a lot of people are a lot more concerned than they should be about their protein.
I pretty much only buy these in 12 packs from GNC when there's some kind of Buy One, Get One sale. Can't justify the price otherwise.

Hey tami have you guys reviewed Fix&Fogg peanut butter? They make all different flavors..i think you guys might like that brand if you ever come across it .i know they sell it on Amazon and certain high end grocery stores

We really enjoyed Outright bars, but the Anabar is very similar from my memory. I would choose whichever was cheaper. If they have matching flavors, it would be fun to do a side-by-side comparison. I don't recall seeing the Outright bars in The Vitamin Shoppe on our last visit. Maybe I just missed them.
The Anabar’s that I’ve tried have been good. The flavors have always been good. I agree in that the protein flavor doesn’t come out in these like others. I can’t eat protein bars as a meal. They just don’t fill me up regardless of how much protein or fat. These both sound good, but way too expensive. The death by peanut butter is my choice. Great review.
