After watching Jenny Nicholson's long-form in-depth video on the Evermore theme park and the Sleep No More experience that it shared concepts (and downfalls!) with, I hope that The Burnt City being less interactive means that it avoids many of the same pitfalls.

yes! armpit hair! we love! i went a year without shaving them once and honestly such a good time it’s so freeing to just not care what people think about your body hair and embrace it. if it grows there, it belongs there and it should be up to you what you want to do with it. no shame if you want to keep it or shave it, beautiful either way! (also i’m not ignoring the rest of the vid lol just wanted to comment on this small thing)

Have been insecure about body hair for such a long time but now decided to don't care about the pressure to shave your armpits. I've found the confidence to not shave and still feel cool and beautiful. Because it doesn't matter if you're shaved or not. It's just a different style. And yeah i can also understand that some people find it gross or sth, because we all grew up without seeing armpit hair or any body hair and there is this view that it would be unhygienic if you don't shave

growing out my leg hair for this exact reason! shaving it and worrying about it is just an extra fuck i cannot bother giving. armpit is a different issue, bc i find it does get annoying and sweaty if it's too bushy but i definitely don't worry about the sight of it and only shave when it's too long

taking this chance to say how absolutely obsessed i am w FIZZ’s image/aesthetic so far like the colours the outfits the makeup the zany surrealism….and just an absolutely PERFECT band name to match!!!! need to live in fizzville so bad. not to mention the two songs themselves like not only is the sound so fun and alive but the lyrics are just. ever-relevant. love how present the fear of stagnation is in them. existence and having to decide what to do with it is so scary and taxing but it can also be sweet as fuck with the right mindset 🤙 or at least that’s the sentiment i’m choosing to take from hahahaha. here’s to being experimental and constantly growing and changing and being surrounded by good friends and love. and for reawakening my zest for life i guess! i’m having a blast seeing you guys have a blast with this.

it sounds like an overexaggeration but a) not shaving my armpit hair and b) not caring about that (this one came a lot later) has improved my life a significant amount we love to see it

this was exactly when i started watching too! in 2017 i was on medical leave from college, completely bedbound with an illness and in what seemed like a hopeless situation - now i've graduated with my master's degree, have two jobs as a teacher and a bookseller, and my health is miles (MILES) above where it used to be! dodie's videos have continued to feel like a warm hug throughout all these years :)

Seeing this warmed my heart. A lot of loss has been circulating around me these last few months and you've always been a source of comfort for me. Wishing you the best and I hope that everyone reading this is doing well. Love you all!

so i’ve been watching you since i was 12 and now i’m in my first year of university. what you said at the end made me sob, a sob ive needed for quite a while now. the internet really is such an entirely different place now and i sometimes miss the simplicity it used to have. i miss our little corner of the internet, feeling connected to so many people because of your music and videos. i don’t know who i am anymore. i don’t know what happened to the good parts of me and i don’t know where to go from here, plus i think i’ve barely scratched the surface of what growing up on the internet has done to my development. but all i know is that im grateful to you for making me feel less like im completely alone in this world. and im so (parasocially) proud of you for all of the amazing things you’ve done, the incredible music you’ve created, all the ways in which you’ve grown, and even at almost 20 i am inspired by you just the same as child me was. you are a light, and to be honest you’re probably one of my pillars of joy, always have been. thank you dodie 🤍

Thank you a MILLION times for talking about The Burnt City, I was so intrigued I had to go. I've only been able to go twice, as I live in Belgium and it isn't easy to get to London all of the time, but I'm not exagerating when I say that show has changed me. It was probably the most inspiring, most intense and most emotional thing I've ever done, it was incredible from beginning to beginning to beginning to end.
