An Update On My Vincent From 1979 Movie The Black Hole
Ғылым және технология
This is my 4th video on a 3D printed remote controlled Vincent from the 1979 movie The Black Hole. I finally got a working remote control with more functions. I also added a heartbeat display in the front made from 2 Adafruit 8X8 led matrix displays.

That's awesome! I loved that movie. I can't say I've ever felt so much feelings for a movie robot before or since. And Maximillian terrified me.
I’m loving it! I agree, would have enjoyed one as a kid if it were out back then. Thank you for sharing!
Oh, he's neat! Cool Build!
Wow! You really added a lot to Vincent! I love the heartbeat monitor lights and I really like how you made the lasers go in and out! This turned out super cool!! Excellent work on Vincent!!
It's looking great Rick. I am glad that you was able to get a remote with more channels. I had a thought since you are limited with channels. May be you could add a rotary switch controlled my a motor on one of the channels. A switch that changes what one of the channels controls. If you get my meaning, and it would still keep it fairly simple.
Glad to see your second remote worked. The project has come a long way and look and works great. I guess you could just use magnets to hold the claws and the side arm parts in place. On the claw arms you could use 2 magnet positions so the claws would lock in the IN position and also lock in an out position. As always thank you for sharing the project with us.

Thanks. The magnet idea to hold the claw in place is interesting.
Looks great. That chest display is very nice. Some cheap toy laser guns have a small sound board that you can pinch to add sound? If you had that Vincet as a kid it would have been huge, because kids are about half as tall as adults.

Thanks. I've thought about adding sound. I have a small mp3 player board but I'm not sure if I want to add more electronics.
Did you design/model it yourself? I haven’t been able to find any decent files and still early in the process of learning how to do so myself.

Yes. It is designed from scratch in Fusion 360. I will release the stl files after it is done. @outsider238 just did a video showing a life size Vincent he had printed. I'm not sure where he got the files.
