Kudos for knowing you needed a break, and acting on it. Cheers
Thanks for the update Rod, glad you are doing well!
Welcome home 😉. Hope to see any interior lake videos done this year . Unfortunately with this heat over the summer made it tougher to entice a bite. The fires are getting crazy to . Anyway, see you on the water soon.
Good to have ya back!
Really appreciate the effort you put into your videos Rod.
I always enjoy your content. Thanks for all the effort and time you put in!
Great to see you back. I enjoy the evolution that fishing brings. We get out there for the excitement of catching fish, using cool gear, learning different techniques. But after awhile, you just learn that half the reason we’re out there is to just because we love the outdoors. You start to notice everything that is living and thriving where you previous saw moss and etc. this is why it is so critical we get young people out enjoying the outdoors no matter what the avenue. People learn to take care of what they appreciate.
Really appreciate your work Rod. Leader in our fishing community! Honest, real reports! Tight lines! Side note, no one has picked up David Suzuki's work. An important Canadian.

Glad to know you're back! Hope you've had a good break. I missed your videos 😊 If you're looking for some ideas, how about a video that looks at why the coho fishing around Vancouver has been so darn good this year?
Welcome back Rod :) I haven't been fishing for a while but recently got my licence again and thought I'd come here to see if you had any recent pink salmon videos and found this update. I used your videos to learn how to fish and am so glad you're still putting out content. Thanks for putting out this update. Looking forward to your upcoming content!

Good to hear from you again Petra. 😊 I'm glad the videos are still helpful to you, and happy to hear that you got your licence again. The pink salmon fishing is going to be great in the next few weeks so I hope you'll get a chance to get out. Feel free to DM if you need more help.
Nice update video Rod, on what is coming up 😊. Tight lines Rod 👍👍👍. I would like to see some videos on, where to catch carp . As I don't have axs to a boat most of the time. so fishing is what I do mainly. They would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED 😊
Hey Rod, I am going to the chilliwack river next weekend. Which salmon should I target and do they bite the hook? In Alaska during spawning season the pink and sockeye weren’t biting so we were trying to hook their mouth. How should I fish the chilliwack river?

Good one Rod. Sounds like what we call here in Australia “long service leave “ or taking a “sabbatical. Good to recharge your batteries. Carol, from Sydney, Australia
Hey Rod Welcome back, we missed you.
Nice to hear from you again . Now get out there and fish !😅
Welcome back! Everyone deserves a mental health break! Any chance to tie in an indigenous person who's a fisherman since you now have a naturalist on board. He can show us all how this ties into the land! Tight lines all!
Just found your channel and very excited to get back into fishing after about 20 years! I grew up back east where fishing was quite a bit different so I'm looking for a good all around setup to fish local to vancouver . I don't own a car so will start as local as possible. Might you have insight or a video that walks through a good all around set up? Thanks and looking forward to learning from you!
You gotta do you first! Welcome back man, I hope you took enough time for yourself and family
Looking to buy chest waders.... which ones do you use and do you recommend any? most reviews I read always have people who claim theirs leaked after a few uses or seams gave way.

I've already answered your question.
Rod, I want to thank you and your team for all the hard work and dedication you've put into your content over the years. You have taught me so much and now I'm sharing your content with other friends and family who want to learn more about fishing. I was so glad to hear that you were taking a much deserved break, but still continuing to produce content. We still have a lot to learn from you and your team.
Everyone needs a break sometimes Rod!! It's going to be quite the fall fishery I think!! Let's get some!!!
Welcome back rod
Showed one of best ling cod baits in your intertidal segment lol
Welcome back young man. A rule to remember is to take care of yourself.
I always enjoyed your videos. I think it would be cool if you did some more videos at home though, like showing us different gear you used over the years. Maybe some in depth videos on different species, what lures and techniques, maybe some reviews of different products. Just a thought if you want a change of pace.

Feel free to make some suggestions on specific how-to's that you want to see. I've done quite a few over the years and quite often I actually don't know what other tutorials people would like to see.
Some time life sends you road blocks. But it's good to see you back rod .
I know a guy who runs a charter service in Alaska. Although they are only open for business part of the year, I'm sure they are busy during the "down" time. _.__ _ _ _ .._ .... ._ _ . ... _ _ .
Thanks for the update, Will you still be fishing with Kitty? what happened there? Looking forward to your new content!
Of course she's a skilled fly angler. In our family there is no clear line between religion and fly fishing.
Hey rod. Would you by chance know of shore casting for coho around Victoria pr renfrew sooke Sidney area going to be there for month of sept any info?
@FishingwithRod
11 ай бұрын
I would say Port Renfrew is the place to be for shore/beach casting for coho salmon. It shouldn't be too hard to find the spots once you're there, the San Juan has a solid run of fish every fall.
