An Untold Past: Chinese Americans in Los Angeles

“An Untold Past: Chinese Americans in Los Angeles” explores the unconventional stories of the Chinese American community here in LA. Learn about the many Chinatowns that existed in LA, through geography, racial and gender specialization, and storytelling.
Moderated by FCAM board member and CSU Los Angeles professor, Juily Phun, Ph.D., the program shares the ways in which Chinatown is mapped, literally and figuratively, onto Los Angeles. The panelists explore stories about Chinatown that delve into the complexity of homemaking, community-making, and story-making.
This program was recorded on May 17, 2022.
