"pieces like Lágrima are popular for a reason" is a crucial thought I think 🙌... what was the most important thing Alexandra said to you? Please consider supporting my work on patreon so I can bring more cool stuff to you: www.patreon.com/beatrixguitar

You gave me some real deep insights here with this conversation. The world is not that bubble we guitarists live with Brouwer and Bach and etc.. People are just people and dont live in that world. Keep it up with these talks. Great job!

Hi Beatrix, this was a wonderful interview with Alexandra, and it was nice to hear personal insights from both of you. Great job. And I am glad to see your subscription number rising so quickly. One of the most important things I got from this interview was to play for yourself. At my age and ability level, that is paramount. Best wishes always, Will.

Good on you. Make music to make yourself joyful. Always good if you can share it; but if not, just play and enjoy. As I like to say: "I'm not selling any tickets!" So I play what I want and play it the way I like to play it. I am an electric player and have played for 62+ years; but have utmost respect for classical guitar players.

Thank you very much for this highly interesting and inspiring interview! I also think that people immediately sense whether you are passionate about what you do. Only then can you let yourself be carried away by the respective artist and immerse yourself in their world. And in my opinion, authenticity is so much more important than perfection! "Start before you're ready" really is a wonderful motto. This is the only way to take people on your own development journey and this process is often more exciting and motivating than the end result. Especially as no artist is ever finished ... By the way: I really love your fine sense of humour, dear Beatrix and Alexendra❣️🎶

I just spent the past 1 1/2 hour listening to this very informative and helpful interview. You ladies expressed some of the very fears that I have felt and I’m glad to see that you two are doing it by following your inspiration, your muse. Several years ago my daughter was frustrated with her perceived lack of progress on the piano and she cited several people, mostly professional pianist, to compare herself to. I told her there will always be someone more advanced than you that you look up to but also there will always be others less advanced than you who look up to you. The important thing is to try your very best each day. You’ll know when your not giving it your best. Put out your best day by day. Don’t look too closely to other musicians to compare yourself to but rather for inspiration. I love your interviews!

Hi guys, It was an awesome and unbelievable feeling to see a video and to find my two favorite classical guitar players engaged in a chat. I’ve been following the two of you, randomly and independently, for quite a while but I had no idea that you knew of each other. I’m, humbly, a classical guitar player myself. I very much enjoyed the work you both do. You’re both beautiful and very talented. Congrats to both of you. Greetings from an American lost in Canada who learned classical guitar in my dear, old country, Argentina. Hugh

This was actually a surprisingly good and honest interview. Thank you!! . That part around :20 talking about repertoire and popular pieces will actually stick with me, for i am so into academic pieces that truly, listening to your opinions and Alexandra’s about putting it together so the audience warms up to the music is very true.

I don't follow you yet BUT, when I've come across your videos it's been truly beautiful. I guess as a beginner guitarist my feeds are different but this video was truly helpful in many ways. Try hard to reconcile your fears, because you need not have them. You are inspiring and your playing is POSITIVE, POSITIVE, POSITIVE! So thank you!

Very good interview, Bea. It's always pleasant to discover that the person behind the performances that you watched, listened to and liked is nice. I also noticed that she has some traits of a perfectionist. For me, the most important thing she said is that, no matter hard you try to please everybody, there will always be a bunch of dislikers. So be yourself and do what feels good to you. I think that specializing in a few musical styles or era's will not necessarily reduce your popularity. I could give many examples.

I'm a struggling guitarist. I have brief moments where I feel I might be able to one day play well. However age and my own disabilities conspire to defeat my attitude with the reality there is no where for me to perform. I was lucky to get some wedding gigsin the past but I moved and there is no community here to get me back into that gig plan. Lacking gigs makes practice a break even proposition at best, treading water with my playable repertoire gradually shrinking. I have however made good use of my skills to create arrangements of many popular songs for solo guitar. Local gigs are rare no one wants classical so I do mostly popular songs when the rare gig pops up.

These interviews are great! What you're doing is really cool. However, do you think you can give your guests a bit more space to keep speaking? It's obvious you mean well, but you very often interrupt your guests while they're in the middle of some longer thoughts. Sometimes it's just you being engaged in the conversation, like saying "mhm" or "yeah," but that seems to derail their train of thought (the listeners' as well). I'm sure a lot of this has to do with the slight delay in your video call. Silence on your end could give us a lot more insight from your guests. Thanks, you are awesome!

Very good and interesting interview!!! About to show your (Beatrix) own compositions, you have a lot of followers to show your pieces, as you said it's unfair compare with Bach or other kind of masters composers, they did their works with heart in their own context. There are a lot of young composers making their own sound with personality, like Chrystian dozza and karlijn Langendijk for example. What really matters is that the audience wants to have fun and hear your own sound and personality, whether you're playing Bach or your own compositions.Anyway, I did this comment because I really want to practice my English. Good interview

We are told as we try to teach bible truths, the people are like new plants in the garden, you need to gentle water them, not drown them with a fire hose! I think your gentle method of introducing people to classical music applies the same principles, a big thumbs up from me anyway! I just an old codger trying to get back into music now my kids have grown up and I have the time, trouble is during my working years I wrecked my ears, so going a bit deaf now, pretty dumb a! Still reportedly Beethoven found a way if the legends are true,so maybe there is still hope!
