An Underdog Wins The Angels & Devils Quickfire | Top Chef: Las Vegas

Ойын-сауық

In this quickfire challenge from Top Chef: Las Vegas, the chefs were asked to create two contrasting dishes inspired by "the angel and the devil on their shoulder." Robin Levanthal stuns her fellow cheftestants by snatching the win from Top Chef favourite Michael Voltaggio.

I cracked UP and cheered when the pompous Mike went home BEFORE Robin. Pride cometh before the fall.

Chef Robin is now the instructor for senior students of a culinary Institute in Washington state that I attend. This show does not accurately depict her at all, she knowledgeable on cuisine from every corner of this planet and knows her ingredients to a molecular level. The other chefs are obviously very skilled as well but it seems obvious the angle that show biz created for her was for sheer entertainment of emotional conflict. She cares more about her students than she does herself and, yes, she is very passionately competitive at heart which has successfully prepared generations of chefs for real fine dining establishments that operate at this level.

Hearing about her cancer constantly did get tiresome, and I'm saying this as someone who's lost several of my closest family members to cancer. Life involves so much suffering and everyone has personal struggles to deal with. Being a cancer survivor is not a personality trait, and shouldn't completely define your work, whatever that may be. Robin's cancer story began to feel like manipulation at a certain point, and wasn't exactly creative inspiration.

@@mikee702 but it fit the challenge. A light salad to represent the angel on your shoulder and a heavy, sweet apple crisp to represent the devil on the other side.

@@adamgoldsteintv Eli makes a comment that the only reason Robin won was because she told the judge she had cancer. Insulting both Robin and Michelle Bernstein. He has a rivalry with her throughout the show that is super off-putting considering he's like twenty years younger than her and tries to bully her a bunch

Best season of Top Chef except for Mike Isbell ( whatever) and Eli. Wasn’t fond of Robin but I was glad she won this one but she really wasn’t the same caliber as some of these chefs. Just my humble opinion. Still love this show and haven’t missed an episode since the beginning 😊

They have to be because the judges have to taste 16 dishes and be pretty full if they ate a full meal, plus it'll be a waste of food to make too much only if judges are taking maybe one to three bites each dish.
